She needs some time to gain her independence. My dog did the same thing when he was a puppy. He was only 2 pounds when he was a pup and I stepped on him a couple of times when I would be in the kitchen cooking or like you, tripped over him. I used to call him "my shadow." He grew out of it (and is now about 5 pounds) but he still does follows me around a lot, just not as much as before. I think it's in the nature and personality of the dog. He is very affectionate and that's one of the things I love most about him. My other dog could care less if I got hit by a car... but she's always been like that, since she was a pup.

You should be happy she is by your side, she may be an intelligent dog.
Don't try and get her away from you because by doing so you may scare her and break that relationship you have with her.
She is so much better to be following you then running off like a wild little puppy.
You can start training her now teach her to sit and stay be gentle and reward her when she does well.

I agree with DP but also your the only one she trusts right now so she is going to follow you everywhere. She needs the security of being near you. Sign up for a puppy obedience class and it will be fun for the both of you.
