I get this too.
Try Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo. It really does help with Oil Control, and gets rid of deep down residue from styling products.
The best part is: It really does help, and it only costs 99 cents a bottle at most places!
Another quick fix, I have found helpful, is just takeing some Baby powder or Talcum powder and shakeing some on my hand and rubbing it into my scalp. It sucks up the oil fast, and makes your hair look shiny.
If you have long hair though, be sure to comb/brush it all the way through.
Hope this helps, have a good summer!

Buy shampoos that have a lot of alcohol in it cuz it dries your hair.A lot of European products will dry the hair n the cheaper products do to.The thing is your hair needs those oils to keep healthy. When it gets oily u should brush it a lot so the oil goes through your hair n then wash. The more u wash it the dryer it will get to.Hairspray n dye dries your hair to.Well that's all the info I have right now so bye for now.

This is an interesting solution I read about just today. Treat oily hair. Vinegar is a good degreaser for oily hair because it helps adjust pH levels. Shampoo your hair as usual, rinse, then pour 1/4 cup over it and rinse again.

Make sure you use conditioner (esp. if it's made for oily hair). Sometimes your body creates more oil (skin, hair etc.) to make up for loss of moisture. If you spend a lot of time in pools during the summer this can make your hair oily too. It does mine.

Head & Shoulders for oily hair, followed by a good conditioner.
You can also try using fresh lemon juice & olive oil.

Actually oily hair means you have healthy hair. So all you need to really do is wash your hair daily, and that will be fine.
I have very oily hair too.

Wash it less......yes this works. at first it will still be oily and may take some time to get it rethinking itself but it does work, your hair produces oil to keep it healthy, actually a good thing, but the more you wash it the more it calls up for the oils to keep it healthy.....it works.....try it for a week, just try.

Washing hair makes it produce more oil. that's why many girls only wash their hair once a week. Personally, I wash my hair every day. Wash your hair daily. Then start skipping one day a week. Then skip two. Slowly work your way out to only having to wash your hair a couple times a week. This way, you teach your hair to make less oil and don't have to wash it quite as often.
