I am really considering going out there, so any help would be most welcome.

Since Puerto Rico is part of the US, US immigration laws apply. You can own property, but in order to work you need to read this:

You can but be prepared: all documents are in Spanish. And you better speak the language and understand it. And, of course English is used in everyday conversations. And the burocratic paper work is crazy there. I know, I lived there for most of my life. Not now. And I am Puerto Rican.

i would say yes i am english and own a property in lime peru all i had to obtain was a residents permit which was no problem as for working that i dont know but i cant see it being a problem
