I have the exact same problem. So i use Aussie Cleanse&Mend shampoo, which is for greasy roots and dry ends or wherever your hair is dry. It has helped my hair so much.

I use Tresemme for coloured hair. Heat protecting shampoos and conditioners I personally think make your hair feel horrible. I use heat protecting spray before drying and then again before straightening but you also have to get your hair cut regularly coz your hair will still get even slightly damaged and then it don't look good. You should alternate what you wash your hair with every 3 months. I use Tresemme, Fructis and Pantene Pro V, all for coloured hair and switch every 3 months.
Only other thing is though I wash my hair every day coz I'm a clean freak regardless even that in itself is very bad for your hair!!
xx

Neutrogena makes a spray that you can use prior to heat treatments (blowdrying, curling, straightening, etc.). It'll keep your hair from getting damaged in the future.

To fix the current damage, try a hot oil treatment. Also the Rusk Silk products help.
