What Makes You Stay Awake

Yes. Its 5.38am here and I woke up at 4.30am, and couldn't get back to sleep I felt tired as heck though, but Ive just had plenty of coffee and I feel wide awake. I make an espresso potful and have one little cup black, and the rest of it with milk.... but only because the whole pot wont fit into my giant mug. Its the caffeine in it that keeps you awake, the milk is irrelevant, so drink it how you prefer it. If you use caffeine to keep awake for long periods of time, you will eventually get 'buzzy'and irritated though.

Yes it helps you stay awake because of the caffeine in it.
Drinking it black will have more caffeine, because you're adding less milk and sugar (it's just pure coffee)

A couple cups of coffee will perk you right up and keep you awake for a while. (energy drinks like Red Bull and Monster also have a lot of caffeine in them, which is why they help you stay awake)

It will give you a sudden boost of energy, but as soon as the caffine wears off, you will most likely feel more fatigued than you did before you had the coffee. It doesn't really matter what you put in; cream, etc... The caffine content stays the same.

Caffeine usually makes me more alert. Black coffee isn't diluted so you don't have to drink as much to get the same amount of caffeine as a mixed coffee drink.

It depends. When I drink it in the morning it helps me stay alert, when I drink it at night, it actually helps me to relax and if I drink it in the morning but I'm tired for lack of sleeping the previous night it wont help me to be alert.
