not because I dont want too, because i personally love helping, but what do you think are the long term benifits when you are able to help someone who can't ever repay that?

It's called selflessness. To give and not expect to receive in return. To a certain extent, sometimes it makes me feel really good.... but then I end up overextending myself and it becomes detrimental.

If you are in any way capable of helping another person you should. And you should never consider what you may get in return. I have helped many friends when they needed it, with clothing, food and money. Some can never repay me and I never expect them to. It's how we should be.

I think that's probably the best charity one can get to give on this planet. Depending on how Allah (SWT) wants it, someone who you can't repay may help you, or you get a nice reward on Judgment Day. Allah (SWT) knows best.
I would do it for the pleasure of Allah (SWT) and not worry about what I'll get in return.

Because it gives you an opportunity to add some good to the world so just do it and don't expect anything in return.

Karma. Do good for others and eventually you'll be rewarded in some way. Not necessarily by those people, but good things will happen for you in general.

Yes, because it makes one feel better about oneself.

Selfishness is reductive, and makes one's psychological "envoironment" a mean and parched place.

It is almost always better to live with an open hand.

It's called loving another. My sister is paralyzed and cannot help me. One of my greatest joys is helping her. Try giving without expecting a return. You might just like it.

if you think that, then you are not genuinely helpful...
"to give and not to count the cost"
"to labour and not to ask for reward"
those are some of the beatitudes you should be looking up.
help because you are helpful.

Because I feel sorry.

It's not 'love' for other human being, I'm not that romantic. Truth is, I felt sorry and I helped them.

Because you're better than they are
(wait, isn't that pride though? Pride's bad, so helping someone who wouldn't help you is bad... right?)\

I guess you wouldn't then, unless you had something to gain.
