How do I change the order of the startup items in my Windows Startup Folder?

I'm talking about the Start>Programs>Startup folder...

The item that I really need to start up first always starts up last and it takes forever.

There are a couple options: Either "unpin" the thing from the start menu and put it someplace else, or delete some of the things you don't use from the Start menu.

WIth programs I use often, I do this: Click Start, Find the icon for whatever it is you want, say Disk Cleanup or Word and righ-click. You'll see a bar with more options. You can click on "Send-to", which opens another bar, then click on "Desktop". That way it'll be easily accessible.

The other thing you can do (very useful after doing the above) is repeat all those steps and click "Unpin from Start menu".

You should also try going into "Task Manager" and deleting automatic Start-up programs you don't need. That shortens the whole thing, usually.

I use the program "Chameleon Startup Manager" for it.

Click Start>Run>(type in) msconfig>
