With birth order being the strongest predictor of homosexuality, should religious women of faiths where homosexuality is opposed only have one child? This follows more closely on the recent comments by someone in the USA saying that it's justifiable to have a scientific treatment for homosexuality in the womb. Should all bases be covered in a way?
This is not an anti-homosexual rant and I do not wish to hear it, just the answer to my question in an intelligent way thank you.

Oh I knew this would be trouble. I am gay, I have no problem with it. I merely wish to understand this from a religious perspective, to find out if it is justifiable from a religious perspective.

One more addition, I'm also asking this because it's the strongest known predictor of sexuality, this means above all other known factors, this one is the strongest. I realize there are exceptions as this only makes up for 1/7. However 1/7 is the strongest known predictor.

Well - last I heard - the Christians think that homosexuality can be "cured" - and that it's a choice. So - they wouldn't be concerned about having male children at all. Right?
As for other "regligious women" - well - I'm a Religious Scientist - and a child's sexuality is not of concern to me. Goodness - there are drugs and sex and pregnancy and bullies - and all kinds of gunk to deal with. But if they grow up to be virtuous - no matter what their sexual preference - that would be a blessing. I'm too old now anyway - but if I were still in my "reproductive years" there's no way it would keep me from having more than one kid. That's just silly.
I'm guessing that you are referring to the study done by Anthony Bogaert, PhD - and it talks about birth order - but it says that "Bogaert's findings don't prove that birth order determines sexual orientation. However, Bogaert writes that the study supports the idea that sexual orientation starts before birth." (you can check it out yourself at http://www.webmd.com/news/20060626/birth-order-may-affect-homosexuality )
My opinion is that it doesn't matter if people are straight or gay - as long as they are peaceful and loving. I'm sure that God feels that way too.

What does it matter. It's a woman's child. Straight or Gay, or whatever. Love your child or children no matter what they are. It shouldn't matter. Who cares, it's a baby. Babies are born are grow into what they are from their experiences in life. If not taught correctly they will be bad people.
But just because someone is born gay, SO WHAT!
Big deal, More power to gay people. They are doing what they want after years of hiding. Too many people have judged to much for to long.
First slaves, then Mexican and Hispanic individuals, then the Oriental individuals, and now gay/ homosexual people. Can't we all just get along. It doesn't matter what race, or sexual orientation someone is. THEIR MOTHER should always love them. Maybe if the world worked that way all the time, it would be beautiful. Peace

That's kind of stupid. You say that like it's a genetic disorder and there's a percent chance of you being born gay. People aren't born gay, they decide to be. I think that "treating" homosexuality in the womb is probably one of the biggest rip-offs in the world. It all really comes down to the individual and the parenting skills of the parents, not whether you're born first.

I'm a middle child with a religious mother. (I am a Christian and am 16) none of my siblings are gay. If you truly believe that being gay is wrong and that your faith is most important. Then a person doesn't have to worry about it.

Sory an indicator is not an absolute so one or a dozen none, some or all will be gay if God so chooses to make them that way.
Remember Psalm 139
God knit each of us together in our mothers womb. God knew all of who we would be and what we would do and God called it good.

What a crock. I know plenty of gay people who where the first born in the family. So only having one child is no way to avoid having a gay child. How moronic. You get what your given end of story.
