Usually when financial aid is being held you have an outstanding fine somewhere..it could be a parking ticket from the school, library fines or anything that you got charged for and hadnt paid. Usually most colleges have their website yu can log into and check your financial aid and outstanding balances with the username and passwords you were given from the school. So if everyone else has recieved your financial aid and you hadnt something is up and you should maybe go to the dean and see since the finacial aid office is giving you the run around..i bet they will look then if that doesnt work take it further than that bc that is your money not theirs.

Well, you could go online to see what is holding up your grant. All colleges provide students' an account so they too see what is going on. You have not provided an example of what they said to you. Is your tuition paid for? Do you have a SAP issue? You can have a 4.0 gpa and still not maintain the required course load. Or, your income exceeded the qualifications.

Also, in some colleges, it is not the financial aid department responsibility to inform you this information..possibly a counselor. Not only that, it is normally the business office that release the funds to the students. If that is the case, how did you pay for your classes? Was it through a credit card? If so, maybe the business sent the payment back to your credit card?

Anyway, I strongly suggest going online and review your account yourself and then present it to the financial aid office or business office.

If you're in compliance grade wise you can lodge a complaint with the department director(s) and ask them why is your financial aid being held up like this because you can't afford to wait around for it to be released.

don't think they have financial aid except colleges, but of its a high school (maybe middle) a lot of them give out scholarships if you're smart and get a certain grade on their test

Go in and talk to some one. If they can't help you, go to their boss. If they can't help you keep going up until you get some one who will give you some answers. If you get all the way to the top and still haven't gotten any answers, go to the news agencies and ask if they want the story. I am sure there are other students in the same boat.
