How hard would it be to go work in Calgary, Canada as a US citizen. What are the issues I would face?

Do I need a visa or what? WOud like to go there for a year or more to see that land and know more about the area and visit a friend.

No you don't need a visa if you are a citizen of USA.If you plan to stay here for a year just go to the Canadian embassy and ask how you go about getting a work permit .
