first of all the styling starts in the shower. You need a good shampoo for body like Serie Expert Volume Extreme.NO CONDITIONER! (You should have monthly treatments though). Blow Dry your hair with a mousse or a gel , try PAUL MITCHELL'S EXTRA BODY . Don't forget to use your brush. When you curl your hair use a working spray like REDKEN Spray Starch. When you release the curl from the iron coil it back up to your head and hold it in place with a pin curl clip and work your way around your head doing the same thing when your done curling. Clean up your mess, allowing the hair to cool completely (about 5 minutes) Spray a freezing spray and release all of the clips. Also keep in mind that making smaller curls your hair will probably relax to something a little looser, so you may want to get a smaller iron as well

okayy umm it really depends on the iron..
If the irons a cheaper one - not ceramic.. its not gonna do as good of job as if its a more expensive-known brand iron and IS ceramic..
Basicly for using a curling iron.. start at the end of the strand and roll opposite side to where the clamp is.. roll all the way up to the scalp.. well not touching the skin but (you get the point).. Don't burn yourself and don't use too much hair because it won't curl right..
While your hair is rolled up, spray some hairspray on it but make sure you hold the canister of hairspray a few inches away..
Slowly unwind the iron and press on the handle a few times and you will see the strand slowly unwinding.. Just make sure when you spray the hairspray , don't use too much cause it'll stick to the iron and make sure you get a good hairspray :)
Hope i helped.. Another idea is braid your hair in 3 sections.. 2 on the side.. one in the back, put alot of gel , wear it like that over night.. take it out in the morning and tada! Make sure you use some Frizz-Ease for any frizz and maybe a bit more hairspray
goodluck

If you've got GHD straightners (I know that may not make sense and I don't know if other straighteners will work!!) But grab a small section of hair, clamp irons half way down and pull down length of hair to the tip but twist the irons on the way down. It don't make sense to read but it works and my little sister does it to her hair too. It looks wicked if you do it properly.
The GHD website shows how you can style your hair in different ways. If you go to www.ghdhair.com then click trends, looks, step-by-step techniques, curls and then view video. Don't do this on the night you're going out coz it won't go right. You do need to practise to work out what size curls suit best and you need a lot of time because it takes long and it gets frustrating. Could always ask a friend to do it??
Good luck anyway and if you need any more suggestions or tips, write me back coz my little sister does her hair curly all the time.
Good luck
xx

I use the overnight soft/cloth curlers that you just roll up and sleep with. They work really good and the curls last for the whole day.
I woke up and looked like Shirley temple my hair was so curly. At first you have to sort of comb it out with your fingers and shake it around to make them more loose, pretty curls. Then spray and your good!

roller set your hair when it is damp and remember to use a good setting lotion to ensure that your hair holds it curl after it has dried onto the shape of the rollers
wet roller set hair normally holds it curl longer than all other curling methods
ask your mum or gran or even better a stylist at a hair salon to show you how to roller set your hair properly and also ask for advice on types of rollers and setting lotion to use for your type of hair

this is what i do for chicks with the problem. curl the section of hair, carefully remove the iron, and pin it so its a tight ring. then blow dry it on cool. oh yeah add mouse before you do it. and use a lot (be careful) of hairspray. aquanet works quite well. but its all about letting it cool in place.

i feel the same as you but you could always get curls and put them in your hair overnight for tight ones than just the ends for loose ones
