One or two things is probably occurring:

1) Some local prankster, probably a juvenile, is getting his/her humor by making you uncomfortable. He/she probably recently saw a Dateline special on witchcraft or saw a movie, which gave them an idea to do something deviant to somebody at random. You should report this to the police, and hopefully the juvenile will get a clue and cease his/her activity. If they do not, it **might** escalate; it started as fecal matter, and has already escalated to the head of a chicken and burned items.
2) It is the work of a religious zealot (of a type of wiccan or satanic worship) who is seeking retribution against you or has selected you at random. As I mentioned earlier, you should report this to the police. Hopefully, they will get a clue and cease his/her activity. It **might** escalate.

Either way, report it to the authorities, and keep an eye on your property. If you see anything suspicious, report it. You did not mention if you live in an apartment or a dorm (you referred to your roommate). Make sure your landlord knows, if it is an apartment or rental house.

I hope I have been of assistance, and that you are able to successfully get this activity stopped.
