My dad has been known to drink way too much in the past and this has resulted in him maybe having cancer of the liver, he is on chemotheraphy for the next 4 months or so. Tonight my mum was in the kitchen with him crying because she thought he was drinking way too much tonight but i don't know.

I hate it when my mum cries, and i want to be able to help but what should i do?

Please helpful advice only

Well Your dad is battling an addiction that takes time to cure, and he may even lose his life (GOD FORBID) but that may be too much for your mother to bare, to see him go through with having cancer and drinking too much. She may feel stressed, maybe you can help her more around the house take some stress off of her, cook her dinner, and/or perhaps talking to your father and let him know what his drinking is doing to your mother and family, maybe him hearing it from you may help things a bit. Let your Mom know that you are there for her and that you LOVE her it might not cure her problems but it might make her feel better!!

Sorry to hear about this, kid.
You sound like a nice kid- with a warm heart.

I know you love your mom, but unfortunately you cannot undo the damage your dad has done to himself with the drinking.

Try to be there for your mom, and let her know you care about her. But please remember she is an adult and you are not...so be careful.

You have to take care of yourself too.
Good luck!
