The spiritual life is a constant struggle. Opening yourself up to Christ opens yourself up to His Graces. Just talking/praying to Him every day is important.

I would recommend getting a really good spiritual director. I also recommend reading "Discernment: Aquiring the heart of God" Also, for some basic reading on the Christian faith, "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis is a good book because he talks about the basics of Christian beliefs from a very logical viewpoint as he was a former Atheist.

As for proof, ironically, I just wrote this in another post:

Let's say you and I are having a conversations somewhere and no one else is around to hear us. I say "xyz" sometime during the conversation. Later, you tell a friend I said "xyz." How do you prove to your friend that I said "xyz?"
Really, there is no way to prove it. You know for yourself and for a fact that I said it, but there is no way to "prove" to someone else that I did. They may believe you or not, there may even be evidence that I might have said it, but there is no way to prove it.
So, for you, hearing me say "xyz" is concrete evidence and no one can change your mind. For the ones you have told, they will arrive at their own conclusions by some other means. Some could come up and ask me, "did you say it?" I could say "yes" but that still doesn't prove anything. Others may not even question it and just believe you are ridiculous. And other may believe you because they know you are their friend and would not lie to them.

Second senario: A person blind from birth asks you what color shirt he is wearing. Prove to him that he is wearing a red shirt. Even if everyone tells him he is wearing a red shirt, there is no way to prove that to him.

So, can you have faith without "proof?" It all depends on how you view proof. For me, I have experienced a LOT of proof in my life. The fact that we even exist by the random chance that some celestial bodies collided and sparked an entire world in harmony is proof enough. Mere chance could not have created this. Albert Einstein believed in a Supernatural Being for this very reason.
In addition, I have had personal experiences that are concrete proof in my mind, as in the case of hearing "xyz" is concrete proof only for the listener.

There are two ways to get faith. One is by reading the Bible.
The best place to start is one of the gospels,Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. Genesis is good too, but don't get bogged down in Leviticus, it's mostly Jewish ceremonial laws.
Also if you have enough faith to believe in God, then call out to Him in the name of Jesus.Do you believe that Jesus actually came to earth to die for your sins? If you really believe that and want to turn away from sin then call out to Him to forgive your sins to make you a part of his family, He will. Whether you feel anything or not, He will keep his side of the bargain.
1. He knows your heart and he knows if you are playing games with Him.
2. If you do your best to give up what you know to be sin, you will have a closer and closer relationship. Your faith will grow as you draw closer

I am Muslim, and although you may be a Christian--we are very similar in that we both believe in God.

My dear, I am here to tell you that there is NO DOUBT that there is no doubt that there IS a God.

Look out your window, look at this earth made in perfect order. Look at the heavens, the planets, the sun, the sky. Look at yourself--do you make your heart beat? Do you make the blood flow through your body? No--this is all the work of God.

Jesus was here on earth, Moses was here--and they were all here to let men know agian there is One God. Jesus performed mircles, and Moses parted the Red Sea all through God's will--but even after seeing that people still said they werent sure if there was a god!

There is a God--there is no doubt!!!

Dear tanya,

"Faith" is a synonym for the Lord Jesus Christ. Please go to Hebrews 11 (called the Hall of Faith). Everywhere you see the word "faith" insert Christ. After all one of Jesus' names is Faithful and True (Reve 19:11).

In Romans 10:17 we read, "So then, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God." Salvation or Jesus Christ comes by hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Look and see how many times Jesus states, "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." The Lord does not say this to fill up space in the Bible. The fact is that every one has "ears" but not everyone has "spiritual ears." When the Lord saves a person He gives them "spiritual ears to hear and oby God's word.

Please take a look at John chpt 10 particularly verses 27-28. I hope this helps you out.

Faith grows out of hope, knowing comes from activating and living in faith! There is an old saying among christians: Faith is going without knowing! This means that to live in faith eventually God begins to reveal himself to you ( the true meaning of revelations ) then you begin to know God. This is the beginning of rebirth into the spirit or what others call being reborn, it is not something that happens automatically upon accepting Jesus Christ. It is to be strived for. You must first die to the world and its ways to be reborn. This is the walk of Christ. The first footstep can only be taken in faith. I know I am still walking in his footsteps.

Feel Free to email me with any questions that may come up.
I shall be available for a while but I feel another pilgrimage coming in my life, I have not taken one in 23 years. I am beginning to sell all of my things to go including my computer.
Be wary of others who invite you into THEIR RELIGION.! God does not live in religion .

What a wise question!

Those who come to God must believe that He is, for He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. -

Pray this prayer, not just by repeating the words, but really meaning it in your heart.

Heavenly Father, I want to be a real Christian. I realise that my sins have separated me from You. Please forgive me. I believe in what Christ did for me on the cross. I don't completely understand it, but I accept it by faith. I do want to be a child of Yours. Please come into my life, Lord Jesus, and make me Your child right now. I'll follow You and obey You for ever. Amen

If you have made this decision, please let me know and I can help you further. If on the other hand you need more help, you can email me direct.

God Bless you!

People have been trying to prove the existence of god for millennia, and no one has yet succeeded. Since any theory of the existence or non-existence of god is irrefutable, it follows that no such theory can have any consequences in the real world: all such theories are useless. As for faith, it is the ultimate evil: it is the deliberate refusal to use one's mind and apply logic to evidence, which reduces one to the state of an animal.

Well, it's impossible to prove it, but how can't you believe when there are FOUR perspectives of Jesus?( Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John ) How can you not believe that there is a God when four people have written about him in different views? One was from a tax collector, one from a doctor,...I don't remember the other two, but... get it? o.0

The only way to know of God is through personal revelation.

If you realing want to know of God I will challenge you.

It is a promise in the book of Mormon that if you read it and pray and ask in the name of Christ he will manifest the truth to you through the holy ghost.

That will eliminate searching out religion because now you have found the true church of God and it is just a matter of living the commandments after that.

Which are
Obediance in gods laws, faith, baptism and scripture study.

Here is the way to obtain a testimony and a free book of mormon which missionarys will bring to your doorstep with lessions.

www.lds.org
www.mormon.org

I testify that this is the true church of God and it has changed my life for the better and gave my pain and the meaning of life purpose. There are 14 million others that wil testify this too.

Let me know if you need further help

Good luck and God bless
