I'm 13 almost 14 and I weigh somewhere between 85-90lbs. I'm about 5'3". I have pretty much no muscles. I do eat, but not like a whole lot. I usually eat about 3 times a day with snacks in-between. I think I just have a very high metabolism. My sister weighed about 99lbs when she graduated high school, she was about the same height as I am now and my mom weighs like 95lbs. She is 51 almost 52 and like 4'11" though. People ask all the time if I'm anorexic and I get picked on too. My sister says I'm not anorexic and that it's just genetics. Can I have some opinions?

Also, I'm not sure if this has to do with our weight stuff or not, but I have done some research about anorexia and weight before and I know it can affect your menstrual cycle and female parts sometimes. Well, endometriosis runs in the family as well. My sister and my mom had to have surgery for it. My grandma and aunt also had to have complete hysterectomies. I'm not regular and I have terrible cramps. Do you think it may be related?

You sound healthy to me. Your body build and type sound good. Sounds like you eat ok, but remember you are growing, and in this stage of life, you are needing calories for energy. I've listed below info on anorexia, and if you don't have any of these signs/symptoms then you don't have anything to worry about. It sounds like being thin runs in the family, and if there are no health concerns, then you shouldn't worry.

There are two types of anorexia, based on whether the anorexia is combined with bulimia:
Classic Anorexia (Restricting Anorexia) – The person eats very little and loses weight through self-starvation or excessive exercise. Calories consumed are insufficient to support bodily functions and activities.
Binge-Eating/Purging Anorexia – In addition to cutting the intake of calories, this person also binges and purges (self-induced vomiting, or misuse of laxatives, diuretics, or enemas). The person has symptoms of both anorexia and bulimia. About 50% of people with anorexia also develop bulimia.
Anorexia is an obsession with losing weight, counting calories, and exercising can lead to an eating disorder, with serious emotional and physical consequences.
According to Ohio State University, the defining signs and symptoms of anorexia are:
an intense and irrational fear of body fat and weight gain,
a determination to become thinner and thinner, and
a misperception of body weight and shape to the extent that the person feels fat even when underweight.
People who have anorexia try to hide their condition, so others may not notice the signs and symptoms of the eating disorder. The warning signs and symptoms of anorexia include:dramatic weight loss; refusal to maintain the minimal normal body weight for one’s age and height
basing self-worth on body weight and body image
frequent skipping of meals, with excuses for not eating
eating only a few foods, especially those low in fat and calories
making meals for others, but not eating the meals themselves
frequent weighing of oneself and focusing on tiny fluctuations in weight
wearing baggy clothing to cover up thinness
excessive focus on an exercise regimen
frequent looking in the mirror for flaws
avoidance of social gatherings where food is involved
even when thin, complaining about being overweight
in females, missing three consecutive menstrual periods...these are just are some signs/symptoms of anorexia. I hope this helps you out.

You don't sound anorexic but that doesn't mean you aren't. When you eat, are you worried about the amount of fat or calories in what you eat? Do you ever pretend to eat food you truly didn't? Do you lie about having eaten something you didn't? Do you think you're fat or even just a little overweight? Do you think you'd look better if you lost a few pounds? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you should talk to a professional, like your school counselor.

If not, it's possible that weight and size is related to hormonal problems and/or endometriosis. Talk to your doctor about it... or ask your mother to talk to your doctor about it.

I've known other anorexics that ate quite a lot... but almost all fruits, vegetables and basically no fat foods and drinks. It's not always that they don't eat but rather that they don't consume very much fat and calories. They lose muscle because their bodies start to use up the muscle as food. Without adequate fat and calories, the body has nothing else to draw nutrition/energy from. Just because you eat a few times a day doesn't rule you out. You have to look at why you eat what you eat. What is your thinking behind how you eat. Is there anything sneaky about what and how you eat?

With the muscle mass, have you lost muscle or did you never have a whole lot to begin with? You shouldn't have a lot of muscle because you're a petite girl. However, if you find you have difficulty walking up and down the stairs because you're so weak, you definitely need to see your doctor.

Anorexia nervosa is usually defined by a combination of things, not just your body mass index or weight-height ratio. You must also have negative feelings about food and eating and self-image issues (such as thinking you are overweight or finding "problem areas" in your body that are not there). It is also often accompanied by obsessive-compulsive behaviors. Given your mother and sister's body weights and heights, I would say that you are just the recipient of very lucky genetics! The real question is, how do you feel about your own body? A positive self-image is essential, especially during your teenage years.

If you eat 3 meals a day and snacks in between, there is no way that you are anorexic. If you are not obsessed thinking about food all the time, then you are definitely not anorexic.

Anorexia isn't just thinness. There is nothing wrong with being thin. You are fine.

You are not anerexic! As long as you are eating every day and getting a sufficient amount of calories you are fine!
It sounds like you a just genetically pre-disposed to be thin.
Enjoy it, a lot of women would kill to be able to eat whatever they want and still be so tiny.
Everyone else is just jealous.

youre not fat in any respect. and anorexic anybody is unquestionably waiting to income weight especially certainly because of the fact while they starve themselves, their physique is going into starvation mode and something thats placed into the physique after that gets rapidly saved as fat. some ladies that are tiny can consume what ever they desire because of the fact they have extreme metabolisms. now, anorexia is a psychological illness in basic terms as much because it particularly is an eating illness. it sounds such as you have especially good administration over it. so my suggestion is to end it previously it turns right into a extreme habit and you grow to be obsessive over it. its greater risky than it variety of feels. in case you nevertheless consume much less you may think of you have administration over it yet at some point you ought to get dizzy and bypass out for a 2d, get freaked out and attempt to consume and locate that your physique rejects any nutrients you put in it and you start up throwing up uncontrollably.. yeah, its risky and it will take administration over you previously you think of. so end on an identical time as you nevertheless can and be healthy by way of understanding an hour an afternoon, 6 hours a week. and conserving a healthy diet meals like culmination, veggitables, finished wheats, and lean proteins (in the spectacular parts) and it will paintings.. once you think of roughly it, being healthy particularly is far less complicated than not eating. if youre having undertaking changing your methods, attempt incorperating one new factor each and each week.. including understanding for a 0.5 an hour, eating greater culmination and veggitables, or eating much less risky nutrients. good success.

If you think you're fat and purposely dont eat because of that reason, than you are anorexic. from what I read, I dont think you are, its just the way your body is built. It does seem like genetics if your sister and mom and naturally small like that. I think you're fine.

Your sister is right it is genetics. You are eating sufficiently. It's just like people who are overweight because it runs in the genetics of their family. Continue to eat healthy foods and avoid junk food.
