That is so sad, my thoughts are with you.
Just spend time with her. If she has the energy for play, then play with her.
If not, just spend time petting her and talking sweetly to her.
Of course, when it is time to put her to sleep, you should be there with her (even though this will be an emotionally draining experience for you).

I'm so sorry for you. I understand what you are going through as I have lost all 3 dogs that I grew up with in the last couple years. Dusty began to have grand mal seizures, so we had to have him put to sleep right away. Kodi passed in her sleep at home. Salem we had to wait a couple days to have her put to sleep. It was very hard because she was my best friend. All we could do was make her as comfortable as possible and know that once she was gone she was out of pain. It was little things that she liked that we did for her at the end like her favorite treats and putting ice cubes in her water bowl. I hope that you can find some comfort in knowing you aren't alone!

it is very hard to euthanize a pet. especially a loved one. I have never been in this situation and the best possible thing is to after you have everything done, to go out and by that same breed and name it and treat it the same way you treated Penny. I am sorry you have to put your dog to sleep i feel really bad. you will get through this. Good luck. I will pray for you and Penny.

If you can, just hang out with her. Set up a cozy place for you two to be. I would take all the pillows and blankets in the house and pile them into the living room. Let her lie there and lie there with her, or just go outside and lie in the grass together. Feed her easily-digestible human food and don't skimp on the treats. Do whatever you can to make her last days her happiest. Remember that above all, she wants company. Dogs have a short time to live compared with humans, and they spend most of that time waiting for us to get home. Skip school or work and just chill.

I am ssssoooo sorry!!!!!!!!
just make the last week you have the best ever. i know it is hard to lose a pet a lost my cat one year ago because he had some kind of failure and there was no cure. He had to stay at the vets for about three days. The day i was going to a football game they called my mom and i and told us he had to be put down. His vet me and my mom go and say bye to him in the office we spent about three hours there and then we put him in his cage there. we put his body up on this hill and i can see the rock a put on top of it from my window. The funny thing was when we went to go get the rock my mom stepped in poison ivy the next couple of days she was itchy
:-). But want you have to realize is that this is what is best for your dog. I had a hard time expecting that. I am really sorry!!!!

I am so sad to hear that. I am a dog owner and I hope i dont have to go through the 'putting to sleep' process. Just spend as much time with her as you can. pet her, give her treats, human food even, cuddle with her, hug her. Just do everything you can during the week. again i am very sorry.

Awwww, I'm so sorry. :( If I were in your position, I would just make her as comfortable as possible. Spend time with her, pet her, maybe spoil her a little bit with people food. If she's relatively active, give her some extra playtime. Enjoy the rest of the time with her, and know that you're doing a humane service to her.

Your dog has no concept of death. Your dog lives in the now.....not the past or future. That's one of the most important qualities we can learn from dogs.
You obviously love your dog and have treated her with love and respect for her entire life. Continue to treat her as you always have and she will end her days with contentment. Any effort to mourn her death while she's still here profanes the years of companionship that you've been fortunate to share.
I understand your pain and am deeply sorry for your loss.

Give her lots of love and pets. It's okay to cry for her. Tell her how much she means to you, even though most people might just think shes a dog. You know she's more than that. Praise every moment of her life even after it ends. Its going to be okay. Penny wants you to be happy. Penny might leave this Earth, but not your heart. God bless you. You'll be okay. :.-)
