you may list several schools and wait. Each school will give you their offer based on the fafsa and you may accept either one. The money doesn't go directly to the schools the minute you file your fafsa. You have to commit to a college first. My advice? Wait. Wait for the best financial offer before you pick your school--unless money is not of importance.

particular, you ought to record a renewal consistent with annum, as near to January a million as achieveable. the dept of guidance opens its doorways to people involved in submitting their 2007 FAFSA on January a million, 2007. here is an insider tip - the closer you may record your FAFSA to that date, the greater effectual. The longer you wait, the greater severe your possibility is of procuring supplies you and subsidized economic help like the subsidized Stafford loan. the rationalization is rather elementary - there's a constrained volume of grant help attainable each and consistent with annum, and it rather is allotted on a conventional come, first served foundation. the dept of guidance does not provide help to record your FAFSA for the 2007-2008 year previously January a million, so be certain you notice as near to that day as achieveable.

To clarify what was said above - the FAFSA is just info. you send to the schools, who then evaluate it and award you aid, both federal aid and institutional grants. When they award you, they'll send you a letter, which you then must sign in order to accept the award. You do that after you know for sure you'll be attending that school.

As stated above, the schools you list just get your info, nothing more. You have to go into the Fin Aid office and sign papers to get your money sent there.

If you put two schools it wont matter because your financial aide will cover the costs for the school that you want to attend. the money does not split.
