I must wash & condition every day otherwise it itches. It flakes too and unfortunately I need to dye because of greys. I dye it every 8 - 10 weeks.

1. Get a high moisturizing conditioner to use regularly
2. Use a hot oil treatment each time after hair coloring.
3. Mix mayonnaise and 2-3 raw eggs apply mixture liberally to wet hair and wrap in saran wrap for 1 hr any time you think you need a little extra moisture.
My aunt is a Hair dresser and against her advise I use to change my hair color monthly when I was younger. Each time I did so I had to bleach it out because I was using those punk hair dyes. The above routine kept my hair in tip-top shape and it's still great now after years of abusing it with the dye.

**I only used the Mayonaise mixture every 6 months or so.

Too much washing could dry it out, you need oil in your hair.
I have dry hair so if I'm not going out for a few days, I don't wash it ... I brush until it gets the oil in it. I also dye my hair (grey) every six weeks.
If you can't leave your hair unwashed for a few days, rub Baby Oil into your scalp and leave it on all day and wash the next morning. DO NOT go into the sun otherwise you will burn.

But mayonnase or a crushed up avocado on your scalp. Or you should use an anti dandruff shampoo. My grandmother's technique is using a shampoo free of Sodium Laurly/laureth Sulfate becasue THAT is what dries your hair out

try a hot oil treatment made from olive oil. just warm it not too hot and massage into your hair and scalp. let set for at least 30 minutes longer if possible and wash out. if this doesn't work see a dermatologist.
