I am lost with this.

I know a person that is part of the "Church of God", he believes he is a chosen one and that most Christians are wrong because they don't follow the Sabbath and they believe in pagan days like Birthdays and Christmas. He also has had problems with his family because he has offended them, although they are Christians, he is judgemental of them because according to him they don't follow the same God???

Can someone explain this to me? I asked him to explain, but he told me this would take years.

Perhaps I should add something else, he told me that few Christians interpret the Bible correctly and therefore they don't follow the laws of God

A cult is a cult, is a cult. One God, one way to attain imortality. If you do not believe that and you condemn others you are not Christian, you are a sheep. It would not take years. Paul was asked which was the right church, he replied, the Church of God. Now they took that, less then 100 years ago and made it a God Given mandate to demean others.

Well in my opinion people do worship different Gods. Ask yourself how can two countries be in war and pray to the same God and then go kill each other. If you have ever read the Bible it talks about different Gods. There was Baal there is the god of luck, among others. There is being a Christian and following the teachings of Christ and then there is practicing Christianity and following the mainstream of what the people are doing in the world. Now these are my opinions.

Sometimes people get into a church that takes their eyes off the main thing, that is, Jesus. They get side tracked onto whether you are worshiping on the right day or if you eat meat or some other side issue. These things are thing a person has to decide, but the Baptist church feels that if anyone has asked Jesus to be their Savior, they are saved. If they go off and do their own thing they will go to heaven with nothing to show for it. The main thing is to keep one's mind focused on Jesus and the love of God and not worry as much about what other people are doing. I believe that if a person is truly saved and truly going where they think God would have them to go, God will judge them upon that basis. But it's possible that he is trusting in his church and his spiritual activity rather than the work Jesus did on the cross to make it right between him and God.

Like many Christians they believe they are the only ones on the planet that have a hot line to God. God loves everyone infinitely and the same - yes even Adolf Hitler. Putting human emotions on God makes him look as though he has an ego. He does not. This man sounds like he operates from the ego- the lower self and not his true spiritual essence. Do not believe a word of this foolishness.

Your 'friend' sounds like a member of a cult. Most cults claim to have an exclusive path of some sort that only they can own, every one else is wrong. The fact is that all Christians have the presence of God in them, many claim to be 'Christians' and do not know Jesus as Lord. Any and All that know Jesus are HIS, no matter what 'group' or denomination they belong to.

We all worship the same God but others are misslead about how to go about worshiping God. God loves us and has a true church on this earth.

Most people rely on fellowship and not on praying and scripture study to find and worship God. they believe mans made up words or ordinances or religions that were created by man.

I testify and know through studying all religions all religions and through the holy ghost that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is True. There are 14 million others that testify this aswell.

If you want to learn how to gain a testimony of a real and living God through the holy ghost please go to

It is not possible that two Christians do not worship the same God. They may have two different perceptions of God, but it's not possible to worship a different God...It sounds like what you are talking about is spiritual pride (meaning this individual thinks he is the only one who hears from God).

Well the christian religion is broken down into, how many sub-divisions??? I don't know but I'm sure someone on this site does. There are a lot of intelligent people discussing things here. Sounds like another sub-division is forming.

ALL Christians, Jews and Muslims worship the God of Abraham. They just associate different qualities to him.

I came from "legalism". A relation w/ Jesus "is the sabbath". The shadow of the law is Christ. Now, I rest from trying in vain to stand legally before a God that runs to me w/ love and mercy. Jesus is the unleavened one. Jesus is the scapegoat, etc. When I was gifted by his spirit to understand that it's all about love, he became the center of my world. Whenever[hourly] I sin I turn to him. In Christ, I'm an apprentice at truly grasping love. The law was given to bring me to the end of "me'. I'm amazed when I think that god came to this world just for me! Now, it's personal. Now he is personal. Now I'm motivated by love!
