si (without the accent) means IF
sí (with the accent) means YES

Generally, it means yes, but in another context, it's used as the conditional "if".
If i go shopping today, I won't have to go tomorrow
=
Si voy a hacer las compras hoy, no tnedré que ir mañana.

As yes, Sí is written with an accent : sí
As if, it goes without: Si

That's the difference.

"Si" with an accent can mean "yes" in English. Without one it can mean "if". It is possible that used idiomatically it may represent something else in English so the context is important.
