Were these fields of wheat only designated for pet food? What about flour, crackers, cereal, etc? Are humans next?

Human grade food ingredients are different from animal grade ingredients. Raw materials going into the human food chain is subject to stricter and more frequent inspections than material going into the animal food chain.

So it is unlikely the human food chain is affected by this tragedy.

The following companies use only USDA human grade ingredients in their pet foods: Blue Buffalo, Precise, and possibly Natural Balance.
