no persecution is justifiable by the bible and any person that says so is beyond stupid . you see as with everything else with a name christianity has a knockoff , or , alter ego . and because the idea inspires many other ideas , both good and bad , this thing called christianity has many many faces . i believe that when i run into a true christian ive ran into a good person but at the same time when i run into a good person i feel like ive ran into a good christian whether they believe or have ever even heard of christ . we need more time than ive got punching keys and usually when discussing such matters i like to be close to the conversationalist as to judge if we are both talking serious or if its just a topic to start a fight with .

They will tell you it's because they're not REAL Christians! Whatever that means.

The U.S. is a Christian nation in exactly the same way Germany was a Christian nation during
WW-II.

EDIT. Someone has asked if Americans are still persecuting blacks. I can't speak for African Americans, but I can tell you that we have to hire security guards for weekly services and all other events held at every synagogue in this city. We also have to install security systems in synagogues and Jewish businesses. Hate crimes don't seem to make headlines.

America is not a christian nation, the founding fathers were freemasons and nonsectarians. The treaty of tripoli of 1797 states clearly that the United States has never been a Christian Nation. Christian fundamentalists are revising American history and heritage to their narrow view and insisting everyone else must learn history the way they want it taught.

if you've found an excuse to persecute a group of people from reading the bible, then you are not reading the bible. the bible isnt a literal translation, but a guide for good. therefore, no it cannot be justified. some americans persecute black people because they are jerks, end of.

America was founded on Christian principles and many of the signatures on the constitution and bill of rights are signatures of Christians. Our fore-fathers such as Thomas Jefferson and George Washington were devout Christians. There is not justification through the Bible.

Blacks, Latinos, Asians are Christians too. And it's far from being justified in the bible.

First I would say there are probably 75% who say they are Christian, but most really are not. They have a vague belief in God, they are American, so they must be "Christian" Also, they are answering a survey, unless they are Muslim, Jewish, or another religion or Atheist and strong in their beliefs they would answer Christian, so surveys are not always an indicator of who is and is not a Christian. Personal proclimations don't always hold water either.

Ok, as for the bible. No the bible does not condone or justify the persecution of anyone. There are times when people were attacked, killed, or placed in slavery, but most often those people were the Jews the people of God. In the New Testament the Christians were presecuted. And we are commanded to love one another.

So where is the problem. Racism is a factor because people like to think they are better. And in order for them to be better people like them should be, so therefore people who are different must not be as good. Also, most black people came from and area where it was not as industrialized, leading foolish people to believe it must be because they are less intellegent.

Much of todays distrust and hatred is touted because of violence, class, manner of speech, and the fact that people of a minority say that they want equality, but use affirmative action to get a leg up. I am not saying it was not originally nessecary, or even that it is still not needed in some areas and instances, but in my high school the smartest black girl (a very good friend of mine, a great student and great person) was ranked 35 in our class. Now that is awesome, we had 900 in our class and her grade point average was like a 4.5. She was wicked smart, but she received twice the scholarships of the valedictorian and saluditorian combined and her family had more money. That seems off to me. It even seemed off to her, but there was nothing she could do about it. She was right, and I don't fault her for using the system to her advantage, but that she graduated from medical school debt free and her parents paid for none of it (she had so much scholarship and grant money it covered all her spending money, books, a computer, private apartement housing, travel expenses (a car, insurance, and gas) and she had money left over that she had to try to spend in her last 2 years) and Jennifer the saluditorian graduated from law school convinced she will never see the end of her student loans. So, I think people get frustrated.

Then there are those people who were just bred ignorant. Their parents use racial slang and speak in a way that is degrading, their grandparents did the same, proabably the last 10 generations did. So the people of this generation who have heard it every day, adopt the attitude with or with out reasons or emotion. And when someone of a different race cuts them off on the highway or uses food stamps, it stupidly reinforces their belief. When a white person does all the same things they don't like it either, they just don't even recognize the inconsistancy.

In my husbands family, his grandparents are terrible about the words and the thoughts. His Dad is better, but still a little racist. My husband has friends of all color. Gets along with everyone, but here comes 2 black teenagers in a souped up SUV and they cut him off or have the bass so loud that we cannot here our radio over theirs and they are 50 feet up in traffic and their and our windows are closed, and all of the sudden ugly words are used. Justifications of I don't mean all black people...there is a difference. Semantics. BS. People are people and we all have our a**hole moments, especially when we are young. And I remind him, his son is listening and may not understand the distinctions he is making in his mind. So he apologizes and keeps trying to break the cycle. It is hard, but some people are working on it.

Also, just to make a point. Christian creationist teach that we are all from one blood, all the same. Just different features that formed more prevelantly in groups because of enviornment after God seperated people at the tower of bable. It is evolutionists who said we all evolved from different species of monkeys and blacks were less evolved. Darwin had aboriginies murdered for their skulls and his followers had them murdered and stuffed to put on display in museums as proof of the missing link. Darwin also encouraged slavery for the good of the black people stating that it was a kind of protection against the natural selection that would undoubtedly occur. He believed that because whites were superior they would conquor the blacks and continue to evolve, where black people in their weakened mental and physical state would become extinct in the natural selection process. He said slavery was a way to protect them from extinction and allow them to continue to evolve.

There was a pygmy man, Otta Benga, put on display in the monkey cage at a zoo as proof that we evolved from apes. The scopes trial which was the original court case to have evolution taught in school was all about having a scientific way to teach our young that whites were the most evolved and smartest race.

So it is not just Christians. Hope this helps. I apologize if I said anything that could be considered offensive, it is not my intention. It is just such a touchy subject and it is a fine line that those who discuss it walk. If my toes dipped on the wrong side of the line, please forgive me, it was not done out of malice or hate, just poor writing.

"And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance? The longer I live, the more convincing proof I see of this truth that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? I also believe, that without his [God's] concurring Aid, we shall succeed in this political Building no better than the Builders of Babel."
