A cop gave me a ticket the other day....but I lost it, before I ever really even looked at what he gave me. He told me I'm supposed to show up somewhere, and that all the info is on the ticket. But now I have no idea when I'm supposed to go anywhere, or how much the ticket would be or anything.

I've been searching online, but I really don't have any idea who to contact to figure this out. The last thing I want is to not show up at some kind of court date, then have a warrant out for my arrest or something....so i definitely want to get this handled as quickly as possible.

Your county clerk office or hall of justice will be able to help you. Good luck to you

Do you remember what agency the cop was with? City, county, or state? That might help you know who to call. You could call that agency and they can direct you from there. For instance, the way it works where I live, if you got a ticket from a municipal police dept you would call the municipal court clerk.. if it was from a county officer or the highway patrol, you would call the office of the justice of the peace in the precinct in which you got the ticket. If you don't appear in court, the judge could issue an arrest warrant. Also, you may not be able to renew your license until it is taken care of, so I wouldn't wait too long. It isn't uncommon for your appearance date to be 10 days from the date on the ticket.

First call the police station in the area that you go the ticket in. They will tell you the courthouse that is assigned to them. Then you can go to the courthouse can get a copy of the ticket.

You tore up the ticket in front of the Police Man so that you could act manly.

Now you come up with this bum question about how you supposedly lost it ! !

I know because I'M THE POLICEMAN ! ! !
