January, I met a man in one of my classes. In the beginning, it seemed that we were going to be good friends (nothing more then that).

However, as time progresses ... he's been acting a little wierd. Like he's been really paranoid :O Also, his general character is very instense, head-strong and a bit aggrasive.

If I talk to any of my other friends (who are males), he'll get angry.

Also, my friend and I planned a day together because she and I are always too busy to hang-out. The same day, he called and asked me to break my plans with my friend to go out with him instead. One weekend, when I was really busy, he told his friends that I didn't want to go out with him so I ingnored his calls. Ummm, last time I checked he said that we were friends and I agreed ... at least thats what I thought. He's been very persistant lately,

I don't know, I feel I'm being pushed into a relationship here ... something that I didn't agree to. Should I go out with him?

Keep in mind, I think he's a very nice man, but he is a little rough around the edges. I want to get to know him better before I am anything more then just a friend.

However, the way he's acting is freaking me out, and I feel like running away. Yes, he is intense and passionate but he needs to calm down a bit -- am I wrong for feeling this way?

Plus, I been in a few relationships that I feel were emotional draining. This guy can be very emotionally chaotic when he can't get his way on. Yes, it sounds immature, but thats just the way he presents himself. Oh yeah, he's in his late 20s by the way.

Hi, I'm a 30 year old Teacher--and I saw a show on Oprah about abusive men, and the pshychologists said that one sign of an abusive man is Jealousy. Many women think that jealously means he loves you, but if a man tries to prevent you from being with friends or family, and if he gets angry when you just have a simple conversation with another man---that is a very strong sign that he will be abusive..

The woman on the show is the "woman without a face"--she was shot in the face by her boyfriend after he became enraged when he thought she was having a conversation with a friend. He would become angry when she had a conversation--and for many years she thought it meant he loved her, until one day he shot her..Anyways, he shot her face off--and now she warns women about the signs of abuse.

Read about this on Oprahs website:

Run away. My friend is in a relationship with a guy like him. They fight a lot, because he is controlling. He goes through her cell phone and deletes contacts that he doesnt approve of (guy or girl)... I worry about her, and I think that you do not need a guy like she's got.
