There are so many religions out there. I don't know which one it is, I think it's Hinduism, that has millions of gods! So why only try to pick on the Christian god? And plus, you set here and talk about hateful, mean, Christian hyppocrites. Name me any race, organization, or country, and I bet you my life I could pick out some spoiled seeds. So why do you guys generalize so much? And don't even say that we do too, and just don't want to admit it, because it goes both ways, and I'll admit that.
Am I making a point here, or am I just another stupid Christian giving intellegent atheists something to scoff at?

and why r u so scared to have religion in school?
I think it'd be best if a bit of religion AND evolution were tought in school.
Kids should be able to decide for themselves, so why only evolution??

Wow! That's another 3! I knew you guys were out there but I've only seen one or two good atheists. Everyone else seems so evil, and you guys have shown me that not everyone likes to argue their point. I think that's what, SEVEN good atheists! And only one of you tryed to tell me to change (CD) But you only told me in one line, very nicely, as i you knew it was hopeless anyhow. (Out of you 7, I'm going to put a 2 or 3 of you on my watchlist)

Of course I can't speak for all atheist any more than you speak for all Christians, but you bring up an interesting point.
I attack (gently and logically) any religion that obstructs a person's freedom to choose and find their own way. The Christians are actually very good about this compared to the Muslims, Jews, and Mormons. These groups rely on coercion and punishment (even death!) to keep a lock on their children's faith. Most Christians are very accepting of their children who choose other beliefs. My devoutly Catholic mom does not love me any less now that I am an atheist. Mostly she just worries about my soul, and prays for me daily.
From my perspective the most tolerant major religion is Buddhism, which recommends that you find your own way to enlightenment, and how you get there is your choice.
Any religion that tries to keep you from leaving is not a faith, it is a self serving organization doing harm to civilization's progress.

It's not really a matter of 'picking on'. It's that you guys are so ubiquitous - certainly on this board.
If R&S were full of Muslims arguing the case for their religion, no doubt the atheists here would argue with them. But they're not here. You are.
Once in a while we do get a non-Christian theist asking something, but it's seldom very coherent, and not usually open to a discussion about Allah's existence.
No doubt a few Muslims watch these threads, and I'm sure they think all the atheists here are Shaitan incarnate.
You may, if you wish, take it as a compliment from atheists that we consider you guys able to discuss these things at all.
(This doesn't, sadly, apply to *all* the theists here. Some are so far gone steel cables couldn't drag them back to reality.)
But most of you have just fallen in with the Wrong Crowd and been led astray. You can change: you just need to open your heart to Dawkins.

1) Some of the atheists here are (unlike me) American. In America the predominance and aggression of the Christian right provokes a very precisely directed backlash. You should have expected that.
2) With only a few exceptions I only answer questions by atheists or directed to atheists. Those directed to atheists are usually hostile questions. I return fire. Most of these questions are from Christians but if they're not, I still answer them. Again, stop drawing first blood, and you'll have less reason to feel persecuted, you poor thing.
And just listen to this one below me! Did anyone NOT understand atheism so well as her..?

I understand why you're upset and there is a simple answer to your question. Christianity is the most popular religion in the world. The other religions seem insignificant in comparison. Atheists like to set their sights high so they aim for the biggest and brightest target. Speaking as an atheist, I may not agree with any particular religion but I try to respect them whenever possible. We ask questions because we genuinely want to understand your beliefs. Hope that helps. Peace.

First of all, just a comment... I am a Christian and I've never visited the Atheists Section in Yahoo. I'm not even sure if there is one. Why would I go there? I pray for all who are not saved, but picking on them is really not necessary. I think that the atheists are drawn to the Religion and Spirituality Section, because deep down, way deep down, they want to believe.
As for why they only pick on the Christians. It is because the spirit that lives in them knows who the one true God is and attacks the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. As for your last statement, remember that God uses the foolish to confound the wise. (Foolish and wise to the world that is.) And that the power of God is foolishness to those that are perishing.

I am only an agnostic, but I think it has something to do with forcing people who don't believe as you do to live their lives by the restrictions of your faith. I know not all Christians try to force their ways on others in the US. Since the majority of the US is Christian in some form or other it appears to those of us who do not believe in their faith that they tend not to want others to live as they will.
In a town I use to live, in western Michigan, it is a law that you can't have beer open in public on Sunday. I moved there from Milwaukee where grilling brats soaked in beer is a city-wide tradition. One of my neighbors complained and I got a ticket. This is an example of a majority, Reformist Christians, making it illeagal for an agnostic, who thinks beer is good for brats and not so bad for drinking on Sunday, to take a hit. It's a blue law, been around for a long time, but that don't make the law right.
Some Christians are hypocrites and tend to generalize others, as are some Jews, Catholics, Hindus, Muslims, Buhdists, Animist, Agnostics and Athiests. Such traits are Human. I must say My wife and her people are very decent and easy going Christians who tolerate my ornery, individualist ways.
I wouldn't let any of it get to you, people got plenty of stupidity and intolerance to spread around. It just hurts more when it is a percieved majority stomping on a minority.
Take it easy and have good time, Keith

It did not was once Christians as a entire organization, however many exclusive secs of Christianity discovered themselves extra robust by means of grouping themselves in combination. But, you ask why Atheist decide upon on Christians motive they don't seem to be the entire identical, good you simply did that to Atheist. You grouped Atheist all in combination however we aren't the entire identical. We do not all assault Christians, and I have Christian peers. But for those who desire to do a assessment, seem at how Christians are dealt with in comparison to Atheist. Many states have civil rights eliminated for Atheist akin to Texans in which Atheist cannot preserve workplace.

Because other religions are not trying to force their doctrine into MY HOUSE by having it legislated in the US. And I don't "pick on" Christians. I simply try to get them to understand that there are multiple beliefs and theirs is no more valid than any of the rest. It takes faith to believe or not believe in any religion or lack thereof. So the fact that you SAY your religion is the truth doesn't make it so. Keep it the F**k out of my home. And keep it the F**k out of my government.
