Hah, Limewire is not even a site, much less free.

yes, but anytime you download files from those sites, you run the risk of downloading viruses...I have yet to find a program/site that doesn't slow it down. My favorite is still Limewire though. Especially if you are using a Mac. Hope you find a good one!

pretty much not buddy, when your downloading your adding information to your hard drive which your processor and ram is working hard to place that stuff in order and take care of what ever else your doing. In my opinion I believe Frostwire is the best. Go to Frostwire.com and DL it. Uninstall the other ones. but again, its going to slow your system, theres no real way around, unless you increase your memory to a couple gigs and your processor to a dual core, and still, your trying to input a bunch of information while trying to do toher things, no way around it.
