I have the same problem. You can go to a jewelry store, or the jewelry counter in a department store and ask for this spray-on protector stuff. It's meant to protect the metal from scratches, but in the process it shields the metal from your skin. A layer of clear nail polish also works in a pinch.
The thing is, these coverings tend to wear off a lot for me and make me either constantly re-coat or break out. I've met other allergic people who swear by it, so maybe it's just how often or how loose you wear your watch.
I find it easier to just buy watches with leather bands that cover the backing.

I have the same allergy. People have told me to cover the back with a layer of Clear Nail Polish, but I still broke out in a rash. I have to wear children's watches. I sometimes find cheap ones at Wal-Mart.

Hi there,
You can use the clear nail polish, or the jewelry protector, or you can buy a better watch. If you go the polish/ protector route, you'll have to reapply it periodically (depends on how you wear the watch and how you sweat).
I have a horrible nickel allergy but Timex don't make me react.
Maybe you could try that brand.
I have also heard good things about Seico's.
Good luck!

I also have a metal allergy and just paint the back of my watch with clear finger nail polish. Works for me!

Try a thick ribbon, slightly thicker than your watch. Put it on before you put your watch on. My mom has an allergy and can't wear her watch. She uses different colors and types of material and ribbon under her watch where the watch would come in contact with your skin.

I'm not sure about that - you should check with a jeweller. What you can do, is there are watchbands that are leather all around, and there is just a place to insert the watch face.

Coat it w/ clear fingernail polish. You'll have to re-apply it every once & a while.
