i have a movie thats 35 minutes long and im trying to put it on a dvd+rw thats 120 minutes long but the movie will stop around 30 minutes in, even though the dvd+rw can hold 2 hours of footage. is there a way to lenghthen the dvd or whats the problem here??

In a digital world, "minutes" only don't mean much.
It is not the mimutes only that count but more important the bit rate!

A DVD has about 5 GB of storage. You can fill it up with a movie of 1.5 hours, as well with a movie of 3 hours, or just 30 min. It all depends on what bit rate you use. (The higher the bit rate the better the quality, but you can store less)

The maximum bit rate for a DVD movie recording (including audio) is about 10 Mbits/s. A typical DVD movie uses about 6 Mbits/s for video.

So, go back and check your recording bit rate.
