In the past year, there have been several kids in my subdivision trashing the neighborhood - throwing garbage all over, and coconuts they knock off trees, and worst of all, they terrorize the neighborhood ducks and their chicks. One day, about 15 kids smashed one ducks eggs to bits and their parents just watched. The parents let their dogs run loose (and just stand there laughing as the dogs try to attack the ducks) or if they have them on a leash, they bring them to pee on my fence. I am a single woman. A lot of them are aware of that and how I feel. I tried talking to the association after I saw the parents attitudes, but they didnt offer much help. The past 2 weeks Ive had to repair my tires 3 times after finding 4 nails in them. What can I do (seriously)? Is what theyre doing to the ducks illegal? I just feel like Im in the twilight zone...people are so incredibly inconsiderate and mean these days.

If the association won't do anything, try enlisting other neighbors who feel the same way.
If you can prove that they have damaged your tires, you can file a complaint with the police.
As for the ducks, there must be some kind of animal rights groups in your area that would embrace this cause.
You might also want to carry a digital camera or camcorder so you can record their behavior. Even the camera on a cell phone might be enough to document the behavior.
If the kids are roaming around, you might also try calling child protective services and reporting that these kids are unsupervised (depending on their age). Even if CPS doesn't do anything, they will at least have the complaint on record.

I feel really bad for you. That is beyond horrible what they are doing to the ducks. You are really nice because I would of cursed the hell out of them. I am a big animal lover. I would of also called the cops on them, maybe set up a video camera by your car, and call an animal cruelty agency.
I cannot believe parents allow their children to act like that. Pure trash.

Call the Humane Society about the animals and then call the cops about your tires. This is absolutely unacceptable - do not put up with this. If these parents won't teach their children what is sociably acceptable then the law enforcement will have to. Be strong... you don't owe them your sweetness nor deserve it.

This is animals cruelty, and their are laws out there to protect them..Contact your nearest animal shelter. Also contact child protection services and see what you can do, call the police for vandalism to your car, and complain about these children..remember that these are children and something needs to be done about their parents.
