Can someone give me some ideas of what to say to turn a guy down for a date.... or to just let him know I am not interested when he flirts with me? I have a huge fear of being mean, so if a guy asks me out and I dont want to I will always give some excuse rather than say I dont like him.... which leads him to keep asking because he doesnt know I dont like him. And when a guy calls that I dont want to talk to I will just not answer the phone, but then he will ask me in person why I didnt answer and I lie and say that I lost my phone or I couldnt hear it ringing.
I know it is bad of me to lead guys on, but Im really shy in terms of telling guys "no" and I honeslty dont even know what Im supposed to say.... so what could I say in situations like this that wont ruin the friendship we might have or without being too rude?

You used the term "lead guys on". Are you flirting with THEM? If not, what are you doing that makes you "lead" them on?
Reason I ask is, if you're truly not leading them on in any way whatsoever, then you don't have to worry about being "mean" to them by turning down their advances.
As a guy, I'd rather simply be told thanks but no thanks, I'm just not interested. There should be no reason that they'd be upset at that. If they are, then they're not the kind of "friends" you'd want to have. Also, ditch the idea of being evasive when they call. Its your prerogative who you date. Let THEM deal with that fact.

I know exactly what you mean. But I have learned that there is no better way of turning him down than flat out saying: I am not interested in dating you. He will respect you way more in the long run and you don't want to be known as a tease. Try it once and soon as you do, you will realize that it only gets easier. Would you like a guy to lead you on? Didn't think so.

Aww i know its tough im kinda the same with girls you are a good person and just dont want to hurt people. But you also have to respect people as well so the next time someone calls u to talk just be like hey what can i do for yah buddy. That will tell them and make it short. Call them buddy or friend and they tak the hint.

sweet simple and to the point is what I would tell you." I am not interested." sometimes beating around the bush, or trying to find a better way of making it sound nice in not effective. If I liked someone and they didn't care for me ( interested) that's how I would want to be told
