As a child, it was through praise & worship songs in a Pentecostal Church.
After I fell away, then prayed (repented)10 yrs later after a drunken blackout, I ended up in a total breakdown (spiritually, mentally, physically). So, a year of this, I was desperate, but didn't know where the bible was in my house, I went to the Church, web site http://www.riveroflifefellowship.com & I was desperate. I couldn't sleep for a year. I was stuck in a state of mind, a trance where I couldn't sleep or wake up. I was soo desperate. I went forward and made a fool of myself loudly, but calmed down after was prayed for & the oppressing witch spirit left me for good. Never felt it again (except it flew in front of me briefly a few months later). Then I went forward to recommit. Then I went forward & was strongly anointed by the Holy Spirit where my hands went straight up & I praised God in tongues. Then I went home, the Holy Spirit directed me to toss a book in my closet, then to read a verse in another book that wrote that it is the anointing I received that is the spirit of truth & leads into all truth. So the Holy Spirit told me that I could trust the anointing I received. That night I slept the whole night not remembering a thing. For the first time since I had first got stuck in the spell about 1 yr before (don't practice self hypnosis). And from then on, I had long periods of sleep to make up for the lack of sleep that year. I sooo enjoyed that. (The book the Holy Spirit hated was the Mormon book.)
No one was there to help me during my breakdown. Except the Pastor/ wife of the church I grew up in. They came up with my parents and prayed for me during my breakdown. They prayed someone would come into my life. Then someone did. Then they left. Then someone else did. She brought me to the River. So, also, helped me heal & grow in Christ after I was healed from the breakdown.
Yes, I have thanked these few people who prayed for me, when I was stuck in the dream domain. Others told me it wasn't happening, it was all my imagination. I kept trying to find God. If it wasn't for the few who helped me to Christ Saving Grace, I would probably be dead today.

It a can be a very long and involved story. A man was checking my brakes and he started to tell me the plan of salvation. I had heard it before a couple of times but had gotten mad at God and turned my back on him. I even told a guy at the laundromat that the telephone book could say it was the word of God, but that wouldn't make it the Word of God.
Anyway, this time I knew down in my hear that it was true and that this was the last chance I had. (I was planning on killing myself) I prayed the prayer but I did it mechanically the way people do when they are chanting or reciting. Like magic incantation. So when he asked me if I was going to heaven, I said "I guess so." Well he was at his job, so he couldn't counsel with me so he sent me to a lady at the Bible bookstore. She went through the sinner's prayer with me and I prayed the same way. But when she realized I still didn't understand (so much for a 165 I.Q.!) she took me to the office and answered all of my questions out of the Bible. It took about 3 hours. I finally bowed my head and just poured out my heart to God. He is so good! Just remembering it brings tears to my eyes even now after 25 years! He's been so patient and faithful to me. But it wasn't just her, there were a lot of other Christians involved in that spiritual journey.

I was about 4-6 years old when I became a Christian, so I don't remember much. My mom told me that one time I prayed to God and then after praying I shouted "Lord, can you hear me up there!?" But I am not sure if that's the time when I asked Jesus into my heart. I guess the people who laid down the foundations for my salvation were my parent and all the missionaries aroung, but mostly my parents.

I was a young pre teen child and had been in Sunday school and church for years and was as baptised into a small country church. I have always believed but not always been obedient to Gods will but learned that life is much better when I allow God to lead me. The peace and joy of a close relationship with God through daily prayer, bible study, and telling others about Christ and His love for them is totally fullfilling.

Assuming you mean when did I gain a testimony in the Lord:
I was raised in the LDS faith, my parents having joined the church when I was two-years-old.
As for my own discovery, I read the scriptures and gained my own testimony when I was 20-years-old. I was attending the a Mormon college (then it was a two-year college called Ricks College. It has since become a 4-year university called BYU-Idaho).
I am very grateful to my parenst for raising me in the church and have told them so many times.
