I have a miniature pinscher. On her second "period" she & my male miniature pinscher did "did it" I'd say about 2-3 times. The thing is she really showed signs of being pregnant after she got out of her period. She got very sleepy, tired, always resting, her nipples got a little bigger (at least 6 of her 10), and she is fatter. About 25-28 days after we took her to the vet & the blod test was negative. The vet said she could still be pregnant, that some dogs got negative blood results & then they gave birth to 1 or 2 puppies. She also said that we had to wait. My dog is around 45 days now & she is still sleepy & fat (she hasn't gained much weight since all this started -- but she is definitelly fatter than she normally is). I don't know what to think. Please help me.

Signs of Pregnancy
My dogs give me signs, shortly after breeding to let me know that they are pregnant.
Yours may show some or all of these signs too.
1. Her vulva will stay slightly swollen after their heat ends.
2. Her teats ( nipples will be more pronounced and hard.
3. You will notice a big change in her temperament. She may get quieter or lazy or more loving
>4. 2 weeks after breeding they may experience morning sickness. It can last a week or so. Give her saltene crackers before she gets out of bed and a few throughout the day
By now I know they are pregnant.
Your vet has to wait until day 28-32 of her pregnancy, to palpate the abdomen.
To do this lay your dog on her side, slide one palm beneath her and your other palm over her other side, just below her ribs. Gently squeeze your palms together and feel for little golf balls, these are puppies. If you become good at this, you will be able to count the puppies.
5. In the 4th week you may notice thickening of her sides, between her ribs and hip bone.
6. She may start to show any time after 5 weeks. Larger breeds may carry the pups up in her rib cage so it might not be so easy to notice.
7. Most dogs show at 6-7 weeks. You may notice a normal discharge somewhere in the last couple of weeks. The discharge is clear and has the consistency of thick vaseline and is oderless.
If you notice a discharge that is green or bloody and fowl smelling seek a vet.
8. In the 8th week you can fell the puppies kick and turn around. I just love this part. ♥♥♥

Your dog is preagnant!!!! I have a lot of experince in this. your vet may be right when he says that she may only have 1 or 2 puppies, but from what ive seen the smaller your dogs belly is the more puppies its going to have.(Mostly because the puppies will be small) So Dont Sweat It! But i must warn u if its her first pregnancy then she might have complications!!!!

You still have to wait! She can go through a "false" pregnancy, but more than likely if they tied, she will be bred. Chances are high. Gestation is around 63-65 days, and you can have her x-rayed at 53 days. This would help confirm, and let you know how many to expect.

Pregnancy is VERY possible! It's been a while since she's been to the vet, why don't you take her again and see if the test results are different? Or just wait it out!!

Take her back to the vet and tell them you want an ex-ray or sonogram.

She could also have a serious health problem (Tumor?), I agree with the answer above, take her back.
