Oh no, i'm not having sex with any of these guys. it's the only way i can seem to have a convo is by what my friends call "flirting". if I don't, then i'm really really shy.

You've made the first step by realizing that you are doing it and asking for help. Alot of times flirting is harmless, but some people can and do take it the wrong way.

Take a step back, stop, and think before you start to say things. Also watch your body language. You can be a friendly, nice person without making someone think you are interested in being with them.

Some people may just be jealous over you, and if your not giving out the wrong idea to someone that you want to be with them and are just joking then there really is nothing wrong with it. good luck.

If flirting is not hurting anybody and your not doing it for the wrong kind of attention, why does it matter. If it bothers you then take note of what you do and try your best to avoid doing it.
A lot of people do some flirting without realizing it, plus everyone sees flirting differently. If your not out to hurt anyone, I don't see anything wrong with it (it's just your personality), perhaps your friends are just a tad bit jealous .

Just stop. You flirt with every guy because you base your worth on how much guys like you. I'm sure you resent the girls who don't have to flirt and can still attract guys because of their looks or their accomplishments. Take more pride in yourself and develop your own interests and abilities. Anyone can get a guy to pay attention to her by flirting. You want to attract guys by being interesting in some way on your own. Don't give the guys the upper hand by throwing yourself at them.

I can't see where you are actually hurting anything. The girls are mentioning it because you get attention back from the guys, would be my belief. It's just a form of communication. And the guy's are appreciating the attention, correct? You can stop if you really want to but from the information you have given I can't see any problem. Maybe, the other girls need to learn how to flirt.

Um. Flirting is a very particular kind of behavior. It generally takes two to flirt on an on-going basis. I don't think that you've been flirting.

Don't worry about what other people call your behavior.

If it really concerns you, and you think it's causing a problem in your life, then counseling would be in order.

Good luck.

You flirt with most guys because it makes you feel more comfortable around them. There's nothing wrong with this. Your friends are probably jealous that you get one with most guys. Reguardless of wether you like them or not, at the end of the day flirting is just making easy convo. So don't beat yourself up and just be yourself. What ever makes you happy. x

I don't think you can stop it. You were doom from the very beginning! Plagued with the instinctual impulse to flirt with the opposite sex regardless of circumstance!

Anyway, your impulse to flirt might be just a normal aspect to your personality. This might be the case since you only recently found out that you flirt a lot.

Why do you have to stop. If your friends have a problem with it then they have a problem with you. There is nothing wrong with flirting. Really what is flirting really? Your being nice and charming to the opposite sex. Your friends might have a problem with this because there jealous because they aren't as charming or as confident as you. Be yourself. If you flirt too much thats you and there nothing wrong with that.

Most people flirt for attention. So there is a self esteem issue, or a need to validate yourself. Or maybe you just like being a tart. Whatever the reason, since you are aware of the problem, STOP.

There's really no "reason why you do it" necessarily. Like my ex-husband - he is flirtatious, it's part of is persona, he doesn't mean anything by it. Unfortunately, other people don't know that and take it out of context. Then it's up to him how he wants to handle that situation. If it's part of the way you are and like it then it's okay - if you don't like it about yourself then try and change the behavior a little - it can definitely give mixed signals to guys.
