There was a program during the 1980s called "Brooklyn Bridge", set in Brooklyn, New York, during the 1950s; its major character was a little Jewish boy who loved the (then) Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team. He had a brother, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles who were all practicing Jews. The drama was very touching and was also critically acclaimed but, unfortunately, not generally watched and was soon cancelled. Perhaps the answer is that the majority of Americans are non Jewish and may be disinclined to support programming where the central characters are Jews, or it might be that "Brooklyn Bridge" was in a competitive time slot or simply uninteresting to its intended audience .

Because most Jews, including those that control Hollywood, are not practicing Jews and don't really like practicing Jews. They see them as a throw back to a more primitive, unenlightened time in their cultural development. Ghetto Jews.
If Jews do not control the media, why are secular Jews so over represented on Television. Most sitcoms have at least 1, and most sitcoms have a cast of 7main characters. That would put the Jewish population at more than 10% according to TV. In reality there are only about 5 million Jews in America - less than 2% of the population.
You realize this one is not deniable. Just read the names when the credits roll and compare the number of Jews listed as directors and producers to the percent in the general population.

Sure there are. There was a TV show in the early 1970s called Bridget Loves Bernie. Bernie was a practising Jew but there was an interfaith wedding. Also there was a character on the TV show "Little House On The Prairie"...Nellie Olesen's husband was a practising Jew and one of the controversies was whether the twins would be raised Christian or Jewish. I believe there were also some Jewish characters on the TV show Sex and The City. Didn't Charlotte date a practising Jew for awhile on the show and she considered converting as I recall...and lest we forget Rhoda Morgenstern and her famly from The Mary Tyler Moore show. Here's a list of other "fictitious" jewish characters...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fictitious_Jews

Jews in arts and media are quite secular. They occupy 60% of the most powerful positions in Hollywood, while the Jewish population of total Americans is about 2%.

As for attractiveness, at one end of the curve we've the least eye-catching and on the different end the main. the comparable would be genuine for earnings ... poorest on one facet and richest on the different. contained in the direction of the bell we've each and all of the trouble-free individuals. i think of what you're asserting is genuine, yet in simple terms in simple terms a actuality of existence. we've the full spectrum for the two genders. As for why adult males do no longer protest ... i assume they comprehend that that is in simple terms the way issues are and protests are actually not likely to alter something. wish this helps!

If the gifts of the Jews and the gays throughout the history of entertainment were to disappear from our life and memories this would be a very gray world.
I guess there isn't any old types like me that remembers The Goldbergs. It ran for years in the early days of TV.

This probably corresponds to the fact that the majority of the world's Jews are secular.

Jon Stewart once said, "Trust me, we do not own the media. We may be over represented, but if we owned it I would have a prime time show and Leno would be on at 3am!" (or something to that effect)
