Because it's true. When Jesus comes back, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 it says:

"13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.[b]
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words."

That's where most people get confused because they think that when you die you go straight to heaven or hell, which can't be so, because in Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 it says:

" 5 For the living know that they will die;
But the dead know nothing,
And they have no more reward,
For the memory of them is forgotten.
6 Also their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished;
Nevermore will they have a share
In anything done under the sun. "

When Jesus comes back the dead righteous are raised from their graves, and they, with the living righteous, rise up to meet God in the air. The dead evil stay dead, and the living evil die because their sinful selves can't last in the presence of God. The righteous are in heaven for 1,000 years seeing why certain people are in heaven and why certain others aren't, while Satan is bound here on Earth with all his evil little minions (see Revelation 20:1-6). Then when those years are up the evil will be resurrected & try to overtake the Holy City (see v. 7-9) but they die. That's where the Bible says there's the new earth with the Holy City that is forever--in Revelation 21:1-2, 5 and 22:5. Also Jesus mentions "the kingdom of heaven" a lot (Matthew 3:2, 4:17, the Beatitudes in Ch.5; 6:10, 7:21)...

So there is eternal life in a Paradise NEW Earth, AND a heaven, AND a hell.

I hope that makes things a little clearer for you.

some christian believe in a paradise earth becuase heaven is not considered a place in the christian religion it is the divine presence of God.Hell is also not a place, but the absence of God. so when some people say they believe in a paradise earth it's basically the same thing as heaven and hell. the only difference is the wording.

There will be a thousand year period on earth when Jesus Christ will reign. This period will be like heaven on earth because Satan and his angels will be in hell during this time. At the end of the thousnd years Satan will be released for a short time but then the end of this world will come and there will be a new earth and a new Heaven.
What a joy to be free!

Those are the Jehovah Witnesses. The bible talks about a heaven that is not on this earth, but also a millennial reign of Jesus on the earth. The Jehovah Witnesses believe only 144,000 will go to heaven. Some say the rest will live on earth others say that heaven is on earth and only those 144,000 will go. Most other Christian groups say they are not Christians because they don't believe Jesus was God. I don't believe JWs are Christians.

The Bible does refer to a "New Jerusalem" decending from heaven replacing the old and that being the place for everlasting life.

The reality is know one living on this side of the cross knows for sure.

For a true christian (disciple of Jesus Christ) it is a moot point. Christianity is not about the here after but the here and now. Commit yourself to Christ and all the after life stuff is taken care of and need not be your wory. What you need to spend time on is learning to love yourself and your neighbor uncoditionally. Sounds like an easy no brainer but I know of no one who as completely mastered that yet, except for Jesus.

To an extent, they're both right. Some will go to heaven, some will live in an earthly paradise. Hell is not a burning place of torment, but a state of non-existence, the grave. The Bible never contradicts itself. It is our understanding that is sometimes flawed, since we are imperfect.

According to the bible:

Before the 2nd Coming of Christ, or Rapture if you will....Deceased Christians (Phyiscally deceased) will inherit the kingdom of Heaven.

Then, during the rapture, the Kingdom of Heaven will be established on earth.

If Heaven was made for humans why did God create a Earth, A sun to warm it, an ecosystem for life to grow on it, an atmosphere to protect it?

The genesis account talks of the first human pair in a paradise but once ejected they found the world around them barren and Inhospitable making it difficult to raise crops.

They were told to multiply and make the Earth an Eden (but never happen because of breaking God's law).

Jesus restored that promised of a paradise for those that follow his commandments and will be allowed to enter into his kingdom which is in heaven (144,000 will rule with Jesus, Rev 7:4-8) and on the EARTH (the great crowd, Rev 7:9) from every nation and tribe. Matt 6:10

Luke 23 - "And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise."

I believe that God has a purpose for the earth, as brought out at Isaiah 45: 18 "...he did not create it simply for nothing....but formed it to be inhabited." Ecc. 1: 4 "A generation is going and a generation is coming, but the earth is standing even to time indefinite." Ps. 104: 5 "earth...not be made to totter to time indefinite, even forever."

Dan 2:44 "And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite." Rev. 11: 18 "bring to ruin those ruining the earth."

Jesus taught us to pray for this Kingdoms blessings on the earth as it is already in heaven. In the Lord's Prayer at Matt 6: 9 & 10 we pray for "God's Kingdom to come and his will to be one on earth as it is in heaven.."

Jesus as King of this Kingdom will bring about the promised conditions on the earth as brought out at 2 Cor 15: 24-26
"Next, the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power. For he must rule as king until God has put all enemies under his feet. As the last enemy death is brought to nothing."

When Jesus was on earth, he performed miracles to show what he would do on a much grander scale for mankind under God's Kingdom rule. He healed the sick, he provided food, he resurrected the dead. These are the promises God has given mankind:
Ps. 37: 10 & 11 "And just a little while longer and the wicked one will be no more, and you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. But the meek ones themselves will
possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." (This is speaking of the earth, there is no wicked to remove from heaven). Verse 29 "The righeous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it."

There are many blessings brought out in Isaiah 33: 24; Isaiah 35: 5-6; Isaiah 11: 6-9; Isaiah 65: 21-25; Rev. 21: 3 & 4; John 5: 28 & 29 No more sickness, death, animals at peace with each other and man, plenty of food, and homes. Man live forever in peace.

If all good people go to heaven, why are these promises in the bible? Was not Gods purpose for man to live forever on the earth? The bible does show that there would be those who would be joint hiers with Christ in that Kingdom to rule as kings. What are they to rule over if everyone is in heaven? Clearly they are to rule over the earth. Luke 12: 32; Rev. 14:1-3; Rev. 7: 4-8; Rev. 20: 6; 1 Cor. 6:2; Rev 5: 10

I am confused. I am a Christian, and I believe that if someone believes in Jesus Christ as their personal savior they will go to Heaven, which is paradise, for an eternaty. I believe if someone doesn't ask for Jesus' forgiveness they will be in Hell for an eternaty.
