I was rejected by: I like (Bobby*) and it wouldn't be fair if I went out with you while liking him. When I asked he if she blew me off "nicely" she said she was just being real. Was I rejected "nicely"? , and if I was why "nicely"?
Also: She said that if she wasn't liking him that she would go out with me. She said, " Yeah, you're a sweet guy."

This seems like a nice way. Perhaps forward approach would be better but I think there are guys that are able to save face by the nice approach. And its easier for girls. Most don't want to be mean. When a girl rejects a date I see no reason to question it any further.

The reality is chicks rarely ever get chemistry for non-controlling, sincere, faithful 'nice guys" - its natures way of keeping the species going with most chicks desiring to mate with bad boy seed spreading/cheater types
Being called a "sweet guy" by a chick - means the guy getting this tag better be looking for the exit

I would not go out with her again though if she comes knocking on your door. The fact that she said she would go out with you if she didn't like Bobby, was rude.
