It would be a logical conclusion that those who spend all their time trying to prove there is no god would be atheistic. No?

No. Many Christians also believe in evolution.

Atheism is not a religion and neither is evolution.

You're so far off course that it's pitiful . Your first error is in calling Atheism a religion. It's just the opposite of religion. Atheists do not believe in the supernatural.
Next error, scientists are not trying to prove that there is no god. They don't have time for that. Scientists deal only with the natural world, everything else is only superstition.

Your "conclusion" is not particularly logical. Your first premise is that atheism is a religion. It is not. The absence of a belief in a deity would be very unlikely to lead to a religion.

Your second premise seems to be that only those who are persuaded that the evidence supports evolution must be atheists is contrary to fact. There are numerous theists who agree with the ideas expressed in the theory of evolution.

Atheism is not a religion. Non-believers do not try to prove that there is no God. They simply ask the believers to prove that there is a man living in a cloud. If God would just show up like he used to do in the Bible, think of the millions He would convert. What religion wouldn't like that?

I don't know anyone who spends ANY time trying to prove there is no god. I can't imagine why anyone would bother doing that, in the absence of any evidence that there is a god.

The rest of your question doesn't make sense either.
====================
So why are so many believers convinced that atheists in general try to disprove the existence of gods? It's certainly not on the basis of atheists' behavior - there are a couple here who claim to disprove gods' existences, but the vast majority of us simply accept the conclusion the lack of evidence leads us to. I doubt if more than about 1 in 100 atheists thinks it's important to disprove gods' existences, yet there are apparently LOTS of believers who think that atheists in general do so. How are they managing to believe something so obviously false?

1. Atheism is not a religion.

2. Not all who consider evolution to be the best explanation of the origin of man are atheists.

3. I regard evolution as the most sound theory and I am not an atheist I am an agnostic no matter how you would wish to classify me.

Evolution doesn't even go against God, as some Christians like to think. Atheism isn't a religion. So, basically, the answer is no.

I believe that the hypothesis that evolutionists are attempting to disprove the existence of gos is flawed..

Atheism is a theological argument (that may or may not be correct).

Evolution is a scientific argument (that may or may not be correct).

Darwin was a very committed Christian (his words)- he spent a lot of his earning supporting Christian charities, and was very involved in his church.

The study of evolution is not a pursuit of snuffing out God, but of attempting to apply the scientific method to what evidence can be found.

Be definition, atheists do not have a religion.

You make the critical assumption that evolutionists are trying to prove there is no God. Evolution says nothing of God one way or the other. I know plenty of non-atheists who subscribe to evolution theory.

Not neccessarily. Many evolutionists have some kind of faith. Be it Hinduism, Buddhism, pagansism, Christianity, Islam, you name it. Just because you aren't a Creationist and take the Bible literally, doesn't mean you don't believe in the human spirit in some form or another.

As atheism isn't a religion...

No.

And those who study evolution are trying to prove there is no God? Since when? I was under the impression that evolution was a study of biology, not theology.
