Parrots (like macaws, cockatoos, cockatiels etc) eat a varied diet if they are pets. They eat a formulated pellet diet, some seed mix, veggies (like leafy greens, bell peppers, almost anything!), fruits, eggs, cooked pasta, beans, chili peppers, nuts etc. Pretty much anything that is healthy for you, a parrot can eat. (just no onions, avacado, dairy etc.) I suppose birds of prey eat small game like rats, rabbits etc.

Hey Poooo, Birds eat varying diets depending upon the breed. Many companion birds like parrots do well on a pellet diet, 10%seed, fruits and veggies 10-20%, no avocados, no chocolate, lots of fresh water. Have a great day everyday.

If you're asking about a house pet kinda' bird, I'd say they eat BIRD FOOD!! Of course. And they eat millet seeds. Those are tiny seeds that grow on sticks. They are in pet stores!

some pet birds such as cockatiels and parakeets eat plain seeds. Bigger pet birds like macaws and african greys eat seeds but with more variety. They also can eat fruit, bread, noodles, and vegetables.

Wild birds, such as hawks an owls will actually eat rabbits, mice, rats, snakes, and other small animals.

Yard birds eat worms and seeds

If you have a pet parrot, they eat fresh fruit and special bird seed you buy in a pet store. They love pasta, broccoli, corn on the cob, chinese peas, chilis & feel that if you eat it, they can too. They CANNOT eat avocado, chocolate - that's poisonous to their system.

I love animals, my friend. I have two avairies. One is for my lovebirds/budgeries. They have different colors, yellow, blue, green, and white. I love to watch them especially how they rear their youngs. They feed on seeds. We call them locally "dawa". Sometimes, I give them "kangkong" . It's a local vegetable here, I do not know why they enjoy it. And they should always have enough clean water for their bathing and for drinking.
I also raise Philippine white doves. I love them too. I feed them pigeon pellets and 7 kinds of grains which are coomercially available here.
