If we disagree with them, we are full of hate and on the other hand if they disagree with us, they are smart and enlightened. As christians we can never do well in their eyes.

Don't let their insults bother you, and just express yourself in christian like manner and you'll be ok.

Atheism is not a religion.

Respect for science (you misspelled that as "evolutionists") is not a religion either.

The problem is, the most visible Christians ARE full of hate. The serious Christians I know are honest, charitable, decent people.

Atheists and evolutionists are not a religious category. People who believe in the moon, or the lack of a teacup floating around the sun are not religious groups, and it is somewhat insulting to be referred to such.

To answer your question, Christians as a group are not a very tolerant people, despite the teachings of Christ, and all the homophobia, wars, and racism that accompanies and accompanied Christianity and Christians reminds us non-Christians of all the hate and intolerance that exists in such a "loving" group. You may not be a hate-monger, but unless you have found a way to love all people regardless of all aspects you may disagree with, you still posses hate.

The "Crusades" are a good starting point.
Christianity is a blanket term used to cover most Biblically based religions. Even the most devout followers can harbor evil in their hearts and minds. For example, about a year ago, at the local Planned Parenthood, 6 "Christian" men were arrested for beating the crap out of a pregnant 15 year old there to receive prenatal care, causing her to lose her baby. The interesting part of the story is, they kept shouting, "Baby killer" at her as they hit and kicked, yet all admitted in court that they were knowledgeable of the fact that abortions aren't even legal in this part of the state.

OK, Christians arent full of hate, well, I disagree, somewhat. It may not be hate, but there is a lot of disgust, and "holier than thou" attitudes. Dont think so? Try a little experiment.

Next time you are in a group of people you know believe, but dont know that you believe. State, to them, you dont believe in God. Watch their faces. Read their eyes. Read their body language. You will see the disapproval and disgust in their entire body. Hell, I have actually had people back away from me, like not believing is contagious. When you have been treated like dirt and put down enough, just because you dont believe what someone else does, you tend to get a little "irritated" with that group of people.

Guarantee, you wont try the experiment, but I wish you would. You would see from an entirely different viewpoint

Those who do not have beliefs in god(s) (i.e. atheists) do not belong to any religion.

Those who believe in evolution may belong to many different religions (including christianity). But believing in evolution in itself is not a religion.

I am an atheist, and I do not say all christians are full of hate. I have many christian friends who are not full of hate. They are, in fact, quite pleasant to be around.

I would say that some christians here on Yahoo! Answers R&S are very hateful in their questions and answers directed to unbelievers. Wouldn't you?

I don't say that at all. SOME Christians are full of hate. SOME Christian groups teach hate. The bottom line is - there's always going to be a few rotten ones in every religion. Ignore them. Educating them is rarely worth it.

Because many are.

And if you meant to imply that atheism and belief in evolution are religions, you're clearly willing to lie to make your point against others. That may not be "hateful", but it has the same effect.

If you meant to imply that there are people saying that _all_ Christians are hateful, you might look again at the comments than you think said that. I'll bet they say no such thing. We're awash here in people who think that if you don't explicitly say "Some X are Y", you're saying "ALL X are Y". Taint't true.

Certainly not all Christians or members of other religions are full of hate. It's competition between religions that creates these hatreds. If only God would come down and say, "People of the World, my favorite religion is....." We are not allowed to think it but, religion violence would end.

The only time I've seen anyone say Christians are full of hate is in this question here. It's nonsense, they're not. There are some Christians on here who are pretty nasty but there are plenty of decent ones as well. Stop beating yourself up (or pretending that someone else is).

Evolution is scientific fact, atheism is a rational position not a religion, and I've never said that Christians are full of hate.
