Labs are some of the biggest shedders! Brush her a couple times a week with a good brush, like the FURminator, it will pull all that dead hair out so its not all over your house. Labs shed a ton twice a year for about a month or so, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Feeding high quality food will also help keep that coat strong and healthy.

We'll i had a black lab and she shed like crazy!!! There was hair all over the place, even in my bed from me sitting down on the floor with hair all over the place and then the hair getting on my clothes and then getting into my bed. No! NO! NOOO!!! there is absoluotly no way that you can get your dog to not shed that much. Maybe i might be wrong though. Try going to the pet store and find out. Such as Gails Wet Pets in Mantua New Jersey, (f you do live near Mantua, New Jersey) Cause thats where i go. I bough my first guinea pig there and now i have 5. They will probably have something. They have 6 whole rows for dogs. They bound to have something. Just I say there is NO way you could get your dog to stop shedding as much but maybe there's something that will stop some of the shedding. Try going to your pet store, where you maybe got the dog, unless you got it at the pound, so just take an hour to do that and maybe you WILL get an exact answer.

All dogs shed but this year seems to be particularly bad for excesses. Vigorous brushing to get rid of some of the excess will help but you will have to do it every day. First go against the lay of the hair, to loosen what you can. Then go with the lay of the hair to lift out all that you can get.
The first day that you do it will be the worst so you might want to go outside. It will probably take about half an hour. After that you should only need about 10 minutes a day to get the job done. You might want to get a medium toothed comb to help with the worst of it.
Of course the easiest way would be to take her to a groomer for the first brush out and have her bathed as well, it really helps.
Have fun!

It's spring and dogs are shedding their winter coats. And labs are one of the "sheddingest" of all. With their fine undercoat, plus the guard coat, they have twice as much hair as most breeds.
Brush her every day, to help reduce the amount of hair in the house. I use a stripper blade as well, to remove the dead hair, they are used for grooming horses. You can get one at a pet supply store or a tack shop. Then rub her down with an old sock or a hound mitt to pick up the loose hair left..

The only thing you can do is to brush her every day. Get a shedding brush, they're metal with little teeth on them and help with the undercoat as well as the top coat. They make a huge difference.

It's coming on to spring, she is going to shed. You have to just brush her daily to keep the shedding to a minimum. Depends too on what you are feeding, cheap foods aren't nutritious enough, so you end up with skin and coat that aren't healthy, and you get more shedding.

You simply have to brush her daily and remove as much of the loose hair outside before it gets on your furniture or rugs.
