I think science is one of the main reasons why miracles happen, but I also believe there is a god out there. I don't think Jesus had any supernatural powers and I believe he was a real man, but that his powers were just exaggerated. I don't believe in going to Church and I don't believe in the Pope. So would I be an Agnostic or Deist? I am thinking I am either one of those.

There is a website that is called belief net. Just google it, or do a Yahoo search. It has kind of a magazine like format. On this website, if you really look for it, you can sometimes find a test that you can take which, after you answer a bunch of multiple choice questions about what you believe, it will tell you what religion you are. It is really cool. *sm*

Deists think the Divine has left the building. God is detatched and uncaring in their view. I would go with Agnosticism. You know the human spirit exists, but you aren't willing to swallow the catch lines of the dogmatic cults seeking to conquer the world (Christianity and Islam). Be agnostic and figure stuff out on your own.

If you believe in a God you aren't really agnostic. Maybe you're a theistic humanist.

Btw, check out the Unitarian Universalist church/spirituality...I'm not UU but I know some people who are. It's a non-doctrinal church where people can espouse any belief they wish to, and many of their beliefs are similar to yours. Most of the people are very liberal and embrace science while celebrating personal spirituality, from what I've observed.

YOu believe in a deity, so you're not an agnostic. You're not a deist because your ideas don't seem to be so rationalistically drive as their were. (Deists wer more complex than people give them credit for, with a theology of a missing watchmaker, and things.)

You'd be an undiferentiated theist.

Science had nothing to do with any of the miracles that Jesus did. and for your enformation, Jesus had all authority, and power to perform the miracles, that he did. This He received from God the Father. So, you don't believe He had any supernatural powers, Hang on pal, you aint seen nothing yet.

Well because of your belief in God but not Jesus, you sound quite Deist. You know, most of the U.S.'s founding fathers were Deists (Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson...)

Neither agnoticism nor deism are religions, exactly. Have the text of your question printed on a business card. That's what you are. Distribute them proudly!

Does every little difference in belief have to have a label ? You're whatever you think you are. You don't have to have a name for your belief.
