Just keep her under scrutinous vet care during the pregnancy. Things like this happen naturally all the time in the wild and the dog makes it - so it is not a definite life threatening experience, but better safe than sorry.

and make sure you have a sound plan for the puppies.

Why would you even need to ask such a question?
Your girl could be killed or severely injured, not to mention that if there is this much size difference, you're breeding mutts. There are already too many mixed-breed dogs out there. Do your dog a favor and get her spayed and enjoy her as a pet. Nobody should be breeding unless they know the good and bad conformational traits of the breed, the temperaments they are trying to produce, and have done all of the X-rays, certifications, and health checks on the parents to ensure there is the least chance for passing on hereditary health conditions and defects as possible.

It can be dangerous. What breeds are they? That'd help me more. Why would you let two different breeds mate anyways? Spay your female unless she is AKC show-quality and you want to breed her with the SAME breed and you have people interested in her puppies. Otherwise, you're going to end up with a bunch of mutts which may be cute as pups but will probably mostly end up in the pound as adults and being put to sleep. Just look at the statistics. It's not worth it. Plus, you won't make money off of mutts. If you want another dog, instead of breeding, adopt a puppy from a shelter. Spaying also helps saves a female dog from future health problems. If you are poor, many vets or organizations will pay for the surgery or pay for most of it. If you give me the name of your town, I will even research it for you. I just hate to see more un-wanted pups being born.

Actually it is pretty dangerous for a small female dog to mate with a male dog so much bigger then her. The pups will be big and hard to give birth to. They can get stuck in the birth canal coming out. I wouldnt do this willingly but if it happened to your dog on accident talk to the vet. Maybe you can do a c section or terminate the pregnancy.

why would you want to breed a 15lbs dog with a 50lbs dog. you wont be doing the breed any good let alone the trauma the famle will go through giving birth to the pups it would probably need to be taken to the vets to have a cesarean i doubt it would be able to get the pups out and if it did would then probably need stitches.
what breeds are they?

From your question the female is the 15 pounder. The only problem I see here is that when it comes time to give birth, she may some puppies that are "large" and will have difficulty giving birth. Check with your vet now or when time draws close to her having them...and see what they advise. Good Luck

Breeding is a bad thing, too many dogs and cats get killed that way don't do it.+ If you had to move and they ended up in the shelter and nobody wanted them they would kill them.

How easy will it be for your dog to get those big puppies out of her? That is the main questions to ask. She could die and all the pups could die in birth.

Well, say that you weigh 115 pounds ... Would you want to mate with a guy that weighs 150 pounds?
It doesn't sound so bad?
However, if you are creating Mutts, think twice, because they could end up on death row.
