I didn't say he could, but my 5 year old did anyways. (he was 4 at the time) He had a blast. This summer I know there's a mud pit with his name on it somewhere. I have to wash his clothes, anyways, so what's wrong with letting him have some real fun getting them dirty? It's just mud--I remember having the best times with my friends in a big water/mud puddle that came up to our shoulders. And my 1 year old daughter is going to love it, too.

Of course...clothes and kids wash up pretty good these days...but it depends on if they are old enough and big enough as to not get hurt or drown I suppose, depending on the mud hole and all..it just might be the time of their young lives and you might have some enjoyment just watching them ...oh,no doubt you will ...you prob won't be able to quit smiling or laughing ;o)

If it was a fund raiser, sure. I'd make sure the child was wearing clothes that I was willing to throw out afterwards - including the shoes.

Yes, I have and would again, even though it was a nightmare trying to get all the mud out! The look on my son's face was too priceless!

Heck Yah!! Have and will again. If we can't have fun why are we here?? I have some fond memories of mud rolling with my tot - good pictures too! I can use them to bribe her when she's a teenager!

I've done it, so I would let them. That's the best and I even discussed with my mum because my brother wanted to go and play with his little mates a rainy day in his football class, she didn't want him to get dirty but I told him he could do it. His face was the best. A kid's face of happiness is priceless.

They would be following me in. My kids know how to use the washer and drier. We often play in the mud during the summer.

No dear! It wholly depends on which part of the world you come from anyway. If from your part of the world it is considered okay and you feel good with it,then you could go ahead if it makes your child happy. However,if you are from my part of the world, then you will surely be considered crazy! There are other ways of catching fun.

This child sounds 100% normal to me. Clothes are replaceable.
