My mom is graduating from Nursing School in May, and I was wondering if anybody had a good gift idea to give her. Something homemade that is personal.

Maybe you could create a small poster for her of photos of her life to this point. If you have access to them, childhood school photos and any photos you have of her while she's been in nursing school, would be a fun contrast.

Then, I'd buy a nice 'matt' and frame. You could have family and friends write messages on the matt and frame the whole thing.

Would be very cool! :)

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

you could make her a pin
start with scrape piece of wood or sturdy cardboard
paste miniture things on it like;
#1 mom
the date she graduated
little stethascope
little needle
little bandaid etc
you can also weave ribbon around the edge and add little pearls or sequence for making it a little fancier
glue a pin clasp to the back
you are ready too go....and nurses always wear pins on their uniforms!!!

here are some tips
1) clean the house ( don't hide anything under the bed, or underneath things!)
2) make her a nice dinner, try parmagan chicken with some ceaser salad, and garlic bread, and for desert chocolate cake with vanilla frosting
3) and give her a card, say something like " i am so proud of you, with everything you've done, and am proud to say you are my mom!"
4) make a poem something like " for all these years, youve watched us grown, you've seen us laugh, you've seen us moan, you try your best, through all the rest, and make us proud, you make us feel like we are on a cloud, youve done your share, you were always fair, you stood by us then, you stood by us now," well you finish the rest!
