they get their strength from their sheer willpower to follow anything, to believe anything and to sell out for ANYTHING as long as it's not Christ. they have no logic. they have no facts. "The fool hath said in his heart, 'There is no God.'" -Psalms 14:1a

Courage and inner strength.
Which is actually the same place christians get it. We just don't have to filter it through the Bible to accept the fact that we are strong, capable, and worthwhile as people.
We have thrown away our crutches and learned to walk on our own.

Science has shown that people with a healthy self-outlook and a good solid social support network thrive.
That's the answer for everyone regardless of religion or lack thereof. The only strength you need are faith in yourself and the love and support of your friends and family.

I draw my strength from scientific inquiry. Here is a picture of a galaxy containing hundreds of billions of stars and star systems, out of a hundred billion galaxies in our known universe!

400 years ago, Christianity said that earth was the center of the universe and that life on this planet wasn't interconnected by common descent, but stuck here out of clay from a week-long process (Genesis). But that's too simple for this planet and doesn't challenge me at all.
But recent science reveals an incomprehensibly elegant universe and adds to my spiritual understanding. I embrace life because it is so precious and impermanent!

Ourselves. We don't need a crutch to lean on. We take responsibility for our own actions, and draw strength from the fact that we are responsible for our own lives.
Atheism. You know it makes sense.

Good question: perhaps they draw on the same source as they say made the universe.
Christians (and most other religions for that matter) say, "somebody (God) made something (the universe) out of nothing" whereas Atheists (an impossible position, if you think about it - have they searched the entire universe and found that no single atom of it contains God - I think not!) say that the something (the universe) was made out of nothing by nobody.

An Atheist loves himself and his fellow human instead of a god. An Atheist accepts that "heaven" is something for which we should work now -- here on earth -- for all people together to enjoy. An Atheist accepts that he can get no help through prayer, but that he must find in himself the inner conviction and strength to meet life, to grapple with it, to subdue it and to enjoy it. An Atheist accepts that only in a knowledge of himself and a knowledge of his fellow human can he find the understanding that will help lead to a life of fulfillment.
Atheism is based upon a materialist philosophy, which holds that nothing exists but natural phenomena. There are no supernatural forces or entities, nor can there be any. Nature simply exists.
The church teaches a contempt for earthly life and that to reach some imagined "heaven" is the main goal of life... The church teaches that this goal can be achieved only as the reward for obedience and meekness. The church threatens the wrath of God and the torment of hell for those who dare to oppose its teaching. But Materialism liberates us, teaches us not to hope for happiness beyond the grave but to prize life on earth and strive always to improve it. Materialism restores to man his dignity and his intellectual integrity. Man is not a worm condemned to crawl in the dust, but a human being capable of mastering the forces of nature and making them serve him. Materialism compels faith in the human intellect, in the power of knowledge in man's ability to fathom all the secrets of nature and to create a social system based upon reason and justice. Materialism's faith is in man and his ability to transform the world by his own efforts. It is a philosophy in every essence optimistic, life-asserting, and radiant. It considers the struggle for progress as a moral obligation, and impossible without noble ideals that inspire men to struggle, to perform bold, creative work."
