Can somebody show me a place with a list of all types of engineers and what they do?

What they do and what they are trained to do are two very different things. If an engineer works in his/her training area for their life, that is totally unusual now. Engineers are to be flexible and the ones who are the most flexible are the ones that go with the flow so to speak. College catalogues have descriptions of types of engineering and what they expect their grads to do. Try online catalogues of MIT, RIT, Union College, RPI etc. to get details.

If you like mathmatics, computers , tinkering with widgets, you might think about engineering.
