As a nation the Scots do have issues with the English but I am English and have spent many happy times in Scotland and people are very friendly toward me. Dont worry too much

It is not the English the Scot dislikes but demanding rudeness. Also aggeressiveness, greed and bad attitudes.
The Scot 'enjoys' his working day where the Scot is a professional and has a good attitude.
The Scot is loyal and not usually prone to the petty sniping and one upmanship gossiping that is of the English culture.
Enjoy your new Scots friends.

Not necessarily. Some Scots aren't keen on England and English rule, and the same goes for European rule (hence Belgium), but they don't really have a thing against the people of either country. They are mostly pleasant people same as anywhere in the UK and you can talk freely and expect understanding. Good luck in your new home!

it used to be like that... but nowadays with the vast improvement in the standard of living in Scotland in recent years thanks to all the ivestment, things are getting better. Plus Glasgow is a very cosmopolitan place, just like Edinburgh ... so you won't be the only Estonian by a long shot!
I'd say just be yourself, and read local Scottish newspapers to get an idea of the feelings of the locals...
And the expression is 'foot in my mouth' - the others don't really work!
Enjoy

There are people of many cultures and races in Scotland, and the vast majority of us Scots welcome everyone with open arms. There are also the few who are intolerant, just as there are through out society as a whole. The Scots are known for their humour, warmth and friendly outlook. I don't foresee any problems for you, and am sure you will love it here.

There can be some friendly rivalry between Scotland and England. (I'd compare it to the way you hate your brothers and sister's sometimes). But its not that vicious as people like to believe, especially these days.
Obviously you still get some idiots who will give everyone a bad reputation, but you get that everywhere.
I defintely wouldn't worry about putting your foot in your mouth.
As for the Belgain, I've never heard of that one....
