He licks his paws, he sucks on his feet. I've changed his food to Wellness, it's the Senior formula. Should I switch to the allergy formula?

Oh and he was abused as a pup. Maybe this left some psychological scarring?

He is allergic to something ..
He is bored...
Could be something else but am betting it will get better with more attention. Don't let it go on so long that his feet get sore . Check with your Vet if a chew bone does not help. Nylabones are the best. They don't splinter like the rawhide ones do and they clean his teeth better also
Give him something else to concentrate on like a chew bone.
Give him more attention
Don't change his food w/o doing it in small increments.

Vet says that he is okay etc?? Usually licking or sucking their feet is a sign of an allergy to corn. I am not sure if there is corn in the Wellness tho?!? He could be allergic to the food, or even something you use to wash the floors, spray in the yard on the grass,
wash his blankets in etc.

But some dogs lick their feet when they are lonely, or bored, they are called " Sorry Sores " They do it to make themselves feel comforted.

My dog keeps licking her paw: I went to the vet, who said , after radio and many tests, that it was psychological.
Your dog needs more affection and attention.

...May want to ask a animal expert or vet. He may have some kind of parasite or an itching in his skin. Licking it may be the kind of thing that soothes it. maybe the big Thing that goes around dogs heads for itching. But you'll use it for licking.
