Hello Stefany, after reading this statement, you have been on your own for 3 years making you only 14 at the time to leave your situation. I have no idea what you have been through, but I will say you have made the right choice to stay away from your family, eventhough it was probably a very hard decision to make. It is a shame that you cannot get any help and support from your grandparents. What I do hope for you is that you will in some way finish your education and go to college. You are eligible to get grants, and you would be such a help and blessing for other teens who would be going through what you have. Please protect yourself sexually if you are active. I cannot imagine what you have and are going through to survive. I only wish things could be different for you. You sound very smart and determined to not let anything pull you down. People who make remarks and question you, ignore them. You have a lot to be proud of, such as never being in any trouble. I wish you the best.

It is very easy for a homeless person to be online. Most Internet-equipped libraries are free. All you need to do is possess a library card, and you're set to use the library's free computers. If you don't have a library card, then you can easily obtain one if you happen to have an old piece of mail that "verifies" your "address," and you pretty much pretend that you're still residing at your old address(the one you ran away from, got evicted from, etc) just so that you can get a card. Another way that you can be online while homeless is if you're using comptuers at school...you said you're 17, so it's possible that you could still be attending high school, right?
I honestly wonder why more homeless people don't use the free resources at the library. My friend works in center Philly and passes the city's flagship library on the way to work each day. She says that there's always homeless people hanging around, either panhandling or intimidating the passergoers. They could easily get a library card with an old piece of mail, or they could sign on with a shelter and use the shelter's address to receive mail and sign up for a card. They could be using the computers to jobsearch, seek out phone numbers and/or addresses for listings of shelters and social aide, or to e-mail old friends that might be able to help them out. Instead, they hang around outside doing nothing. So if this girl really is homeless and she's actually using the computers(someone should use them, since our tax money goes towards library resources!), I commend her.

Well congraulations Stefany for been strong and staying out of trouble. But you need to realize some ofthese people who are answering this questions don't know that much about life all they know is Daddy and Mommy give them everything they want. But if they would realize that anyone can go to the library and get online any day they want. Or there is even places where homeless people can go and use the computer. So I hope that you stay out of trouble and you ever want to chat with someone just e-mail me or IM me anytime.

I glad you stay away from your family! I really dislike people on drugs. There is no good reason why people should put there body in harm. I hope your family does get through all this. I think your grandparents just don't want there reputation ruin by your parents that's probably the reason they say you not there's. I will pray for you and may god be your heart. He will see to it that your life someday will turn good.

We all make mistakes and if being on your own has helped you. . .which it sounds like it has, then that is great :)
Some people can be so judgmental and until they have walked a mile in your shoes will they know and begin to understand how difficult life can be. Some never will and that is the sad part.
Stay safe :)

you sound sincere enough and I wish you well stay strong follow you're own convictions, cause it doesn't seem that you have had much help from yer family, you have a hard road ahead and all i can say is that you will be the measure of not just you're failure and success but that of you're wayward so called peers, prove them the failure and yourself the stronger success , oh and you really do need to seek some help if you aren't working , work also provides its own escapes

im in the same situation. my mom an step dad hate me and i wish i could be on my own, but i try to ignore them and get on with my life.
id say go back and totally forget about them. keep up with school! if you get into college, school loans can help you live in a nice dorm with nier people who actually care about you
i have 3 more years until college....so im still hanging on too.
you wont turn out like you parents unless you give up. put a smile on and why not trying to call a teen hotline. they can put you in a good home! trust me, its worth it.
try going to one of their websites and call them up. if you dont have access to a phone, try a pay phone or email them and theyll try to respond ASAP.
have a beautiful life, no matter what. :-)

I hope you have finished high school. You might also want to consider something like Job Corp or joining the military also. Good luck to you.
