My daughter was born on June 6th last year. Normal pregnancy and birth. Me and my husband had sex a week and a half later w/ no problems. I was still sore and alittle swollen, but we took it slow and it was fine.

Hope this helps. Just take it slow if you feel that your ready for intercourse.

It's not really that it's recommended not to have sex because of "complication" but more so that you can let your body get back to normal a bit. Your body goes through alot of stress getting that baby out and you need to give yourself time to heal properly. Plus it's also so that you dont get pregnant right away since it isn't good for you or another baby. I'd recommened following your doctor's orders and waiting a bit.

Have you actually had the baby yet? Because if you have, I can't believe you'd want to ask this question.

You will be bleeding like a stuck pig and leaking milk everywhere. You'll be EXHAUSTED from lack of sleep. Your bottom may still be sore, especially if you tear or they cut you. Your hormones will be all over the place.

Your body REALLY needs these first 6 weeks to heal. Doing too much too soon can cause your lochia to last longer and make it take longer for your body to heal.

I am so serious when I tell you this story...I have a friend that waited 2 days...we don't know how she did it, cause she ripped galore...anyway, she got pregnant from it, but did not know it. The fetus died because her lining was shredded from having the baby she just had. But her body did not flush the baby out...one month later, she gets pregnant again. So she has a dead fetus, live fetus and a two month old baby. She had to wait until the live fetus died and then the doctor could do a D/C on her. I swear this is true. So...just make sure you are on BC whenever you do decide to do it.

when i had my daughter we waited for 5 weeks until we were both comfortable with sex again. When i went in for my 6 week checkup with my OB there was woman there who was in for the same thing and she was already 4 weeks pregnant again. i was just too sore and tired to consider sex any sooner than 5 weeks!

I really can't help you as my baby was 6 months old when the daddy first held her as he was on a government boat on a world trip.however nature has a way of telling you when you'll be ready and feeling good about it so just follow your feelings.Don't do because daddy wants to it's mommy that has to be healed.you'll know if you have stitches your not gonna do something that's going to hurt you for sure,so you'll know.

A doctor I know walked in on a couple going at it within an hour of delivering their baby. Not recommended.
(I waited about two months, and that was too soon for me.)
